    is Yossarian correct: door for bombardier removed, jumping aviators should crawl thru narrow tunnel from the nose?

    Interesting, you are referring to the Catch-22 novel? :)

    On this B-25J example, one must slide in the tunnel to the nose. Need to go head-first, on one's back. But there is an escape window in the nose I'm pretty sure; on the port side there is a red tab that I think pops several panels. Crawling through the tunnel is fun, hehe. 188 cm is too tall these days ;)

    From the jump seat directly behind the pilot, can only access the top gun turret and the bombardier station (via the tunnel under the cockpit). Impossible to go to the rear stations. There is no path to the bomb bay or the tail section. It's a choice before flight: in front or back.
