    TAN-GO warnning.

I installed a new graphic card G-force4 fx5200 and the frames decrease to 30frames per second (fps).
With this frames i can't play wb in good conditions.
Who has the answer for this decrease of FPS.

    When i used g-force2 i had 42 fps
    i changed to G-force4 mx440 and i had 65 fps.

Now i installed a g-force FX 5200 and the frames are 30, very low.
I think i already do everything i could but nothing work.
I changed/testing several settings in graphic card =0
    installed diferent driver's =0
the only way to increased the FPS is chg. the display of desktop 1024x768 to 800x600 but only increased 7FPS (30 ->37 ).

i tried in xp professional and win98.

WHO HAS AN ANSWER FOR THIS PROBLEM ???????

    TAN-GO

    hi tango,

under winxp there is a problem with directx and opengl. the os will limit the refresh-rate of the monitor to 60 or 75hz.
you can check this with most monitors by opening the monitors on-screen menu (which shows somewhere the actual refresh-rate).
also, which maybe responsible for the low refresh-rates under win98, after changing the drivers not always the registry-entries of the settings do change.
some very low fps of 30 are possibly due to "vert. synch." switched on in the drivers setting (half of 60fps refresh-rate).

if some of the above is the reason:
for directx there is a tab in nvidias driver settings, where you can determine the refresh-rates for different screen-resolutions by yourself.

at www.guru3d.com you may find some useful hints or tools for the refresh-rate problem, some of them you have to use only once, some (like powerstrip) run all time in the background...

maybe it is a different problem... good luck :)

    Hello,

A problem with new cards it's compatibility.
Old games tended to be problematic with recent systems.

For example, i experienced that the WB heat the GPU more than new and more sophisticated games.

    Well, in my PC i got 120fps with a Gforce4 MX440 in Windows 98.

About refresh rate limit (60Hz) on Windows 2K, install a nvidiarefreshlock tool, but remeber. Install first apropriates drivers for your monitor.

    Regards

    G-Force FX5200

    New development:

I tried to play WB in OTHER computer (not mine) with a FX5200 too but the problem is the same.
So, its not my PC with problems its a Fx5200 graphic card problem.

erm, try disabling vertical sync, full scene anti-aliasing, or try to consult a professional, or possible the vendor... you might want to go to nvidia to check their FAQ 'n their forums... might as well wait for new drivers, and if allt hat doesn't work you can contact the makers and tell them your problem...
