    salut, all!

there is an idea appeared long ago: if there is Bf 109, it must not be escorted by A6M, and if there is a F6F must not be accompanied by Yak-9.

    so i propose:
tour 1) sandbox: germans vs soviets
tour 2) puddle: japan vs america
tour 3) sandbox: germans vs anglo-americans

    note 1: details disputable
    note 2: new maps disputable

    I am 100% for separate :)
I see problem only with maps- we have only 2 maps now and Pacific arena with Germans vs. Anglo-Americans would be funny, but nevermind, it will be much better than the actual state.

    i'm for separate

2Funtom: we have only 2 defined maps on server rollset.
but, we can use (try to test&use) Midway or NA maps, of course.

Nice idea. Caveat being that, as the game evolved over the years, numbers dwindled. So as Funtom already said, maybe consider adding other maps to the rotation.

That said, this reminds a lot of scenarios/planned events. Why don't we have a new event? I don't know, I remember a Battle of Brittain, a Pearl Harbor etc etc.

I cant agree with this idea, though i can agree with separation
on 4 colors when all sides get buffs, interceptors etc.
If i understood correctly, u plan to have separate tods, and if u do that
ur gonna lose this few players still here..
As i said when it was about rps, some ppl like to fly certain planes..
Be aware that general point of game is to have more ppl, and great variety
of possibilities, not to cut freedom with every step..

If u want something like this would be better to leave game as it is
plus to add sometimes scenario playing..

I think it's sort of a good idea, but then not really. I'm worried that in a Japan vs Western Allies scenario things could get a little one sided. While reds can easily make do without Russian bombers / fighters, golds do not have the same luxury IMO ... having only Japanese fighters and bombers would put golds at a serious disadvantage.
Apart from that, I'd also be less than chuffed not having any Wildcats, P-40s, P-51s or P-38s for an entire TOD. :( Don't get me wrong ... the Russians and the Brits made some outstanding planes ... it's just that they bore me to death.

Yes, yanks wouldn't have a chance against those "titanium zekes that those evil admins won't give to scandinavian players which have to settle to a Ki that looses its wings when someone gives it " a bad eye" "

Haha airfax you are hopeless. I saw that they only want your VISA details, then you too can get titanium zeke ;)

    ON Topic:
For me this would be a nice thing. There might be virtual pilots that would rather virtually die than fly any other than the loved spit, 190, ki and so on, SO in worst case this would lower the already dwindling amount of people.

ANyway, one could try the setup for a few ToD's if vote goes that way and if it made ppl go AWOL, revert to the current setup?

1.tabahost is an excellent server (not without flaws imho), but it's gone to wb2007 (though if folks share tabahost for hosting ma for wb2.77, we would have time considering this sweet proposal)

2.that's why i pushed development of japanese planes. at least j2m3 is destined to counter us heavy bombers and n1k-j would somehow counter f6f and f4u.
however, they still hardly lack ki-45 kaib for strafing and probably p1y1 for schnellbomber (no successful and numerous heavy bombers produced at all)

    ki-45 is a priority.

RPS changes needed: N1k2 is useless with it's present RPS entry date, Ju88-A1 needs to be available from small fields again, Ju88-A4 can stay as it is

those are just cosmetic changes, but the Ju88 is a big problem IMHO

Guys, i think we have a problem here..
Only Kum from those who voted yes today, is present in arena?!
We have 2 of those who "left" voters, and others who dont fly at all?!
Is this coloring why we r forced to fly Pacific map again:dunno: ?

If you allow me to participate about the separate arena countries,
I would to contribute with some experience:

As we finnaly finnished first cycle (all terrains, from 1940-1945 - wtg!) some things got crystal clear:

    1) The correct choice of planes at arenas is a cornerstone of success.
explain: By the first, we set planes by date losely matching with rl availlability, doing some minor ad-hoc adaptations (models/numbers of some planes) and the result was not the expected... for example, in Pacific terrains we saw too big numbers of spit x zeroes dogfights due either pilots got used to use spits or/and some kind of superiority of the model or its just easy to fly... in short, in Pacific terrains we was seeing to much british planes x japanese planes, wich is historically incorrect, due the fact that most of these combats was done at very begin of conflict...
For the second TH TOD, we (me and hotsea) tweak or fine tunning the availlability of some planes in order to stimulate the use of USAAF/USN/USMC x IJA/IJN planes, as was done at RL, more closely based at RL history.

    2) later, must go now.

We will encounter other side of problem coz there wont be many
players who are ready to fly zekes vs corsairs and 47s..
Fh reality, minority of players care for history and for balance,
more of them care for easy kills and scores...
And in that enviroment , more convinient is to fly an F4U than Ki 43..
Before fh 1.67 without Krok and Mcloud, reds were just bunch of spits
and F4us furballing above attacked field..
Knowing that fact what can we expect in war between japs and americans?
Or in war between americans and germans, 6 and 8 x 50cal range d8
vs rather fragile germans and limited 30mm range?

    Yes, separate is good.

Will it be serial, one map/rps per turn or three different arenas at the same time?

I would still like to vote for a everyone flies the same plane arena.

    :D

Consider the average number of players online each night and then try to answer that question yourself. :p

    Three arenas?
That would be plausible when I first started flying (in 312th Czechoslovak, under a different callsign at first) in WBFH.
And an average evening did gather some 60-70+ players... not to mention 100+ weekends.

You forgot to mention all those other "pilots" with P-38s and I-153 furballing those zekes.

Also let's not forget McLoud in the Bf110 and Ju88s either.

ESPECIALLY the great Bf110 over the red field in a series of five inside loops bombing and strafing and closing the field in total defiance of ack weenies, hmacks, spits and biplanes..... ahemm.

    BTW:

I agree with you that the ranges of all weapons should be corrected to reflect a bit more reality.

Also there was/maybe still is a considerable number of players who are fundamentally arcade-junkies who want nothing but easy kills to see those explosions and rack-up their scores. they would come into the game only when the uber planes become available and run their scores up with the vulch and run.

That's why I would LOVE to see that arena where only one plane is offered to all sides.:D
