same here in Argentina. As you know (same for Brazil) we have a long route to connect to FH. We go to USA then to Europe, and etc.
That really makes our game painful.
My normal ping is 1200ms in flight, but i don't warp much.

    youre right!

its the route that we all have to freehost
open dosprompt and type: "tracert <ip FH> and look at what route is taken.
for south america a little explaining!
in europe there is (was) a company called KPNQWest, its broke now!
But when they were fully operational 60% off the traffic went over their network!!!!!
now the company is shut down (dunno if its completely down)
they think about 30 % is still running over there fiberglass network by now.
i noticed that my connection began to go weird when the news came out that KPNQWest was broke.
about a small week it is now i think. :help:

its up to the isp's to change all
in the mean while i also have a great conn. :rtfm:
i got disco's after 5 to 10 min. of red beacon!!!
i dont wanna wait for that so before the 5 min are passed i alt F4 myself out of WB and relog!
the strangest thing is that when i relog and ping FHIP the connection is better again??

i hope for better times soon

Pufjer is correct, KPNQWest was the main network provider in Europe and handled 100,000 corporate clients as well as the majority of ISP's.

The filed for Bankruptcy at the beginning of May and the administrators kept the network running whilst looking for buyers, however last Friday a Dutch court rejected an attempt by KPNQwest's administrators to force its creditor banks to release several million euros in fees collected from the company's clients.
Due to this rejection there is no money to keep the network running and they have now asked existing clients to begin switching to alternative networks. Hence the recent connection problems.

As far as I'm aware KPNQwest is still up at the moment but unless a buyer steps in quickly it will close for good and then for a period of at least three months all internet connections will be reduced in capacity until someone steps into the void and picks up the load.

In other words it's gonna get alot worse.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news:

    :(
