    1415: Battle of Agincourt
Shakespeare misrepresented the battle, just a weeeeeee bit.

Read Azincourt by bernard cornwell. Good reading and a bit morre sympathy for the French and a bit less for the English. I think Cornwell did a good job. And the story was, uh, brutal.

Sahara is a remake of this film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0028413/

Mikhail Romm later made "9 days of one year" and "Ordinary fascism"...

Speaking of Russian WW2 movies, I remember seeing one that had a very chilling scene.

The film was made right after the war. One scene was a Russian soldier out in the battlefield all alone, he is lost or all his comrades dead, he is walking through this barren wasteland, craters and barbed wire, dead trees, death...

and suddenly one lone German tank starts after him, and he alone with this simple bolt action rifle.....

... a far starker scene than the Hitchcock movie North by North West airplane scene.....

Do you know the name of it? It was very famous..... and should be on the list!
