Anyway, I would improve two things in FH. Tracker effects in 3d. I don't see any diffrence between trackes in 2d-3d mode. Laser shots from old xwing game. And hit effects.

And hell, get rid of that cheat mode - 2d! ;-)

you can see a lot better in 2D, you can see rox fired no matter how far away you are, not to mention that spotting cons is easier, acks are a lot more visible, do you want me to go on?

 

Yeah. There isn't much I JUST LOVE TO DO more than staring into a screen looking for little tiny specks as big as a fly turd. Oh, unless I unclude in that I Hat This list, staring into a washed out 3 d warbirds and looking for specks in a LOW GAMMA 3d bullshit thing.
If I had to play warbirds in 3d I would log in less than I do already.
Since I started playing, I have been through a lot of video cards and none of them displayed the dirt below in any visible colours.Oh, I know there are actual colours there, but, well.... ya know, when colour is viewed in darkness it all looks the same, sort of, well, grey to black.

I use 2d because wb graphx is terrible gamma or alpha or something I don't know how to say...
I don't to 'cheat.'

I have to set my monitor on FULL MAX Bright AND MAX Contrast when I play FHWB. I looked all over and there is no gamma correction at all like most other games. What is with that?

I've got a respectable but not super Nvidia card (something like GeForce 256megs 300mghz ActiveX9 blah blah blah...running 32 bit color(BTW I downloaded that patch and it didn't seem to cahnge anything) I've got some crazy HP super 19"er and also a SunMicro 22"er and they both suck when it comes to FHWB. Not the cheapest monitors on the planet either.
They work great for evrything else.
I can never see the acks until they shoot me down so I only bomb the other targets..sometimes. I'm mostly blind as a bat in anything less than high noon times.
I found that 2D is just plane "stone age" ugly, so I cannot see how such a screen can help.

Too bad a group of crazies can't take that old SWOTL game, update it some and make an online game of it along with BoB/their finest hour- spits-109s-hur-110 and 111's.

Nvidia should have a facility for correcting the gamma in 3d mode in general. in windows check your display properties|settings|advanced. there should be a dedicated tab by the video card.

All it does it, well, uh, makes all the blackness into grey and white and hard hard blue-white.. All the specks I am looking for are still the same colour as the dirt below, and that colour is just more painful on me retinas...
May as well shine a spotlight at the monitor.

I copped that from exec a few weeks ago in a previous thread purely because i made mention that many people in FH believe that the only technical sources referenced were "either Communist bloc or Nazi German".

Last time I checked, and correct me if I am wrong, Germany was a Nazi-controlled nation, and the USSR was a Communist-controlled nation.
