Why can´t ottos shoot otr?

    Why can´t ottos shoot otr?

    It was often so, that i wanted to go up with a bomber or another plane with an otto and then i had a con my 6. I was rolling and he damaged or killed me and my otto didn´t shoot. Do you really think that a gunner in real ww2 wouldn´t shoot in this situation? :turret:
    This was just a question that I´m asking me all the time. :confused:

    Do you really think bombers would start in such situtation?

    No, he wouldn't. For take-off and landing, guns were stowed and gunners were in safer places than their gun positions so they might survive an acident.

    your 100% right, I have a b-24 manual ((photcopy)) and and lancaster manual ((photo copy)). It should some safety training that pilots should do, and one of them is to stay in middle/front of plane bracing themselves,
    also, some guns were not manned 100% of time, like radio operator could use front side guns, etc

    But i would shoot :D Ok,ok, but it would be big fun to kill a bomber with a bomb or rocket. Thx for your posts. Now i know something more. :znaika:

    field is under attack! all take bombers and stay otr to kill attackers with otto! :D

    btw... ottos CANNOT shoot an enemy while you touch the ground.
    So of you were otr when he attacked, otto wont respond. Try taking off next time, or wait in twr :D
