You mean castrated firguratively, I'm sure. He'd probably be out in a few years, tops, even if he got convicted. The worst thing about US prisons (the official ones on US soil) is the other prisoners.

My question is why the US feds even care about a thing, considering the times we live in. Of course, the answer is because the feds are incompetent and they prefer to spend their time playing with easy targets. Stuff like terrorism is too hard or controversial for them, and they might have to work overtime
