You dislike the country, but not its people? So basically you only loathe the rivers, forests, pastures and beaches?

Then why express that dislike by having a burning flag in your avatar? As shown by afi's reaction, this also upsets those Americans that actually share your sentiments on the United States' foreign policy.

Sure, it's his choice to make. I just think it's a bit distasteful.

so disgusting as having a flag (don't matter what country it's from) moved by the wind. Religions and flags: we would be so happy without both...

I agree with Red Ant in this. A burning flag, no matter what country, is little over the limit of good taste. Unnecessary provocation if you ask me (thank god that no one asked...)

Man... RedAnt, if I hadn't already given you good rep this week I'd do it again for the cool, calm and collected way you gave your opinion. Kudos!

Oh, and I agree with you. Vlamik, to you and me a flag is just a symbol for a government, or (as in this case) the actions of this government. To people from the USA their flag means a lot more. It symbolizes their entire country!

Burning the American flag feels the same way to an American as burning weed would to a Dutchman.... Oh wait, weed is supposed to be burned... Eerrrrrr, it's as if you burn a windmill in Holland! Yeah, a windmill.... So pretty please with sugar on top, choose another avatar! :)

Falling asleep won't be easy tonight. And I dread the dreams which may come to me when I finally do fall asleep. :(
