Because many of you are not used to check the FreeHost-Announces, I want to get your attention for the Main-Arena-Changes.
ekhm as for gunstat: "It was developed with debugging intentions, so is available only in the training arena." that's the way it should remain imho and don't give me that: "you can always turn it off" it will still give the enemy more detailed information about my plane type
agree al if one cant see dmg with his own eyes or tell by the way con is flyin, hes not supposed to know whats the damage
true. there is a big difference if u're flying spit XIV or spit LF IX, and the enemy can see that in gunstat. the information about who u are is also important, so many pilots don't want that to be disclosed. gunstat should be disabled on server imho
Maleti, lethality should be little decreased, not increased. Less lethality = more skills need to kill, more lethality = less skills need. Small lethality need to save ammo, close distance, and clear shoots. (sweet isnt it?) Big lethality means sprays, lot of accidental kills, blind shoots, open way for newbie to kill ace. Best games ever, always was those, which need a years to improve skills, hard own work. And your skills are not important if every1 can kill you 2x20mm from D8 every 2nd time. Hope u copy that.
i'm waiting for a statement of the developers. i think, we decreased the 20mm, because lethality was 1.20 in the past and lethality2 was set to 1.00. but we were unable to influence the 7mm. and it doesn't matter, what value we use (at the trainingsarena) we allways got trouble with central- and rear-fuselage-fire. in the last hours, a developer reset all lethality values back to 1, but i'm afraid, the problem is still not solved.
WTG!!! Hope it will stay , 2 days ago i did 8 k/s with 190A3, hit only 45x20mm MGFF. Most of them - pk. It cant be, 45mm should be 4-5 kills max. And before, i did 3 kills with 15x20 hit, and my squad mate did 3 kills with 6x20mm hit Also, i died 2 times from 1-2x20mm ack. Its nothing interesting, except my 190 broke itself in half :O Small lethality please and the game mb became great as 2 years ago
Skill to stay alive? U mean orbital flight? Because any what would be higher will spray you from d10. And will kill you for sure, once u lucky, twice u lucky, 3rd time u get 1x20 and wake up without wing WTG. Do you think you are fucking immortal? Or mb you watch too many times matrix movie and bullet avoid. Damn challenger, get back to real world!
Long time ago, when there were 100ppl in arena everyday, it was needed 45 for 4-5 kills. Today, u can do 9 kills, and 50ppl at MA is magnificient score. 2 years ago i said this game is going to be lame, and it goes. 500+ players drop. Open your eyes. Lets things go straight, no lame actions anymore =)
@q: You claim big lethality is better challenge for you. You think you're skilled pilot. DM has 2 points: damage & destroy. I will ask you where are your skills if there is no damage. Your skills are only: do not, DO NOT let it to be hitted. And thats all - lets count : 1 (one) skill. Now look at my point: small lethality. How many skill you need? 1. aim - you nedd gunfire skill, to hit very good & close range. 2. acm - u have to can drop your enemy from 6 3. save ammo - few long range 20mm means not kill anymore 4. patience - to get closer enemy 5. EF - normal combat where 1:1 chances 6. DF - normal combat where 1:1 chances 7. evades - when enemy is shooting to you I hope you can count to 10. and who is the lame now ?
well, q has a point i always laugh when someone say how few bullets brought him down and i always tell him to avoid being hit at all because low lethality encourage ppl to head on, ignore fire (when they chase another con for example), ignore ackfire etc lethality must be balanced well enough, to avoid rediculous situation casued by too bug or too low effectiveness of course not talkin about that bug we have (had?) with fuselage here, thats another case
you miss the point. the 20mm is lethality2 and was 1.0 from the beginning of this ToD on. Lethality1 (7mm and 12mm) was increased to 1.7 by admins. and we don't know, who reverted this value back to 1.0. because sonar, mixer and me decided to announce all changes, and we can't understand why a p51 must use over 200 12mm for a kill, we turned the values back to 1.7 / 1.0 / 1.5 / 1.25. because last ToD at ETO we had 1.00, this means 70% increase for 5-19mm (only 12 and 13mm seem to work), 0% increase for 20-29mm, 50% increase for 30-39mm and 25% increase for Rockets and Bombs. I remember an old Bug at the 190, were one 20mm yield to a central-fuel-fire. maybe we have this problem now for all planes. At the russian thread, they call it "high-explosive CFUS/RFUS bug" and the values from the arena-admins were accepted in this thread.
I never understood why the 190 was supposed to be able to absorb explosive shells in it's belly with impunity. When someone stick a handgrenade up your ass, you are supposed to die.
