I wanna vote, just show me where ? :)

It would be nice (especially because I often fly bomber Mossie ;))

And most of the time u know u are a target only if u hear pings or see tracers passing by, which in neither case is pleasant...

adding otto to mossie?? WTF?? part of its high speed come from not having holes and barrals sticking out

bad omen, you want add a plane similar to mossie, add ju-88g nightfighter, its looses foward, and belly, and gets front gun like bf110g, and carries 6 rockets or some bombs, good choice

    HoHun:

1.Mossie and Pe-2 are high-speed light bombers of early war.

    2.Ju-88S/Ju-188E, Ki-67-I, P1Y1b, Tu-2S, A-26B are all high-speed medium bombers of late war.

IMHO there's no balance between Ju-88S and DH-98. :dunno:

3.I'll consult about the idea of unarmed gunner for DH-98.

    yeah!

Finaly we agree with something HoHun ;)

Please its just RIGHT to have an observer on the mossie just like in real life. And a no armed gunner to simulate the observer is needed.

    im on fire, bailing out.

    Hi Gahis,

This particular Otto will not have guns, just eyes :)

    Hi Exec,

    >1.Mossie and Pe-2 are high-speed light bombers of early war.

The Mosquito B. Mk IV flew its first sortie the night 30/31 April 1942, which is not exactly early war. The Mosquito IV could carry 4 500 lbs bombs.

    >2.Ju-88S/Ju-188E, Ki-67-I, P1Y1b, Tu-2S, A-26B are all high-speed medium bombers of late war.

The Ju 88S-1 was introduced mid-1943, roughly 12 months after the Mosquito IV, and could carry 4 500 kg bombs. Both internal bomb bays were blocked with fuel or GM-1 tanks (I think).

While 4 x 500 kg is twice the bomb load of the Mosquito, in Warbirds 500 kg bombs don't have great advantages over 250 kg bombs anyway, so I'd consider the bomb load close to equal. (I'd guess 4 x 250 kg would be the usual Ju 88S loadout anyway since the point of flying a high-speed bomber is going fast, and you don't like to spend too much time climbing at low speed.)

While the Ju 88S-1 would enjoy a slight payload advantage, it would pay for it with inferior performance and later appearance, so I think it would actually be an excellent counterpart to the Mosquito B. Mk IV.

Since the Ju 88 is already in the game, the 3D model would require only minor changes, too, to delete the nose gun and the tub below the nose. A Heinkel He 111 would require the creation of an entirely new 3D model.

    Regards,

    Henning (HoHun)

    Ok, HoHun.

Looks like you ensured me that we don't need Ju-188E-1, since it has equivalent introduction date in mid-43. Ju-88S-1 has less load, higher speed, lesser image corrections, while Ju-188E-1 has greater load, some high speed, stronger defene, and major image differences.

Since Ju-88S-1 had aft bomb bays filled with 680L fuel tank, the load is:
    14*SC65 internal
    2*SC500 external
    2*SC1000 external

The active defence is only rear-high firing MG131.

    Is it correct?

I read it in the Wings of Luftwaffe by William Green. Your book is at home now.
