I really liked this arrangement a lot.
Exec, is there a way to change the ORD display to show only my bullets remaining?

    huh. personal opinion
    alt-speed
    fuel-overload-climb

i see why you don't understand what i am talking about.
previous cockpit also had regular placement.
so placing gauges regularly into new cockpit you don't see that both variants are too regular.

all-right. forget that. checked all cockpits: half of them have regularity in in more or less degree.

Ok. The nose is fairly easy. I'm just trying to figure out the 3D image I want to use for gun barrels and location. I tried finding them in the image below. Are there coordinates where the gun barrel flame outs are? They are hidden behind the gunsight supports. Need the locations for the end of the barrels.

On the real aircraft, the barrels were staggered. Can this be implemented? Also, it looks like the guns are pointing upwards and are higher than the hood. Can they be moved?

    imho too narrow.
distance between barrels is narrow too.

    have you tried geometry?

angle between barrels (red lines) is 8°

width of forward view is 90°
it's distorted, so i use my old work on my gunsight to demonstrate it.
green line is 30°, 273 pixels
distance between your barrels (yellow line) is 28 pixels.
proportionally your barrels stand off at 3.08°(=30°/273px*28px)

    3.1° vs 8°?

not even saying that entire nose probably must be more thick.

    i'd ask a further question:
how do you explain lacuna between blue lines and fuselage?

    http://pix.am/a/G7N8/

    summary:
distance between barrels must be increased
entire nose must be more wide
curve from forward-fus to middle-fus must not be concave.

    Oh, um, is this on-topic?
The resolution of the mesh isn't the best ..... I don't know how to use the software, I bet with some knowledge of the viewpoints placement mechanism, good things could result. Who knows?

    cannot find any closer

now i'm afraid that shape of area obscured by nose and gauge panel will be the same as in ien's initial p-38 cockpit. the only thing you managed is to compress smaller gauges into tighter order.

Numbnuts on the keyboard for the link. Both are P-38. Top photo is the Red Bull P-38 IMO, bottom is an obvious museum P-38.

I knew you'd say something like that. :shuffle:
I used actual imagery from the actual aircraft. If I ever get a chance to take pictures from inside the P38, I'll take hundreds of pictures.

Take a look at these diagrams in this website:

    http://www.aviastar.org/air/usa/lok_lightning.php

Draw a line from the eye level of the pilot, highest and lowest points to the nose of the plane.

IMHO, I think the line of sight is still such that the pilot just about sees the ends of the top most guns.

There is no big black hump as in that drawing.

Sorry it's just wrong. Also in the few glimpses from the real flight footage, unfortunately no gun sight, one does not see any "hump" at all...

I think the nose drops down considerably lower than in the online graphics.
