IRL Spit5 entered service late Feb'41 or early Mar'41. So it should be! If server RPS is wrong in this point, it must be fixed.

my concern goes more to gunnery:
had it often now that 1 (in words: ONE)
12.7mm killed both(in words: BOTH) my ailerons. do reds have now special magic MG's that jump from ail to ail?

gunnery here is a joke mostly, so any complaints are useless...
go to AH for example, and see how it should look like...

(yesterday a guy hit my wing from d6, 2x15mm and he killed my pilot...how he did that will remain mystery for me...or pk's from underneath d7 with few 12mm...that's some kind of a pk paranoia here)...that's not even pathetic...

Two ailerons destroyed by 1 12.7mm bulet? That is possible, he probably hit you somewhere in the cockpit, and he managed to damage control of the ailerons. Wires or cables or white rabbits, whatever was controling your control surfaces ;)

    Nice point, Comet!

BTW: It never happened to me, but I lost almost everytimes my elevator, which is more bad for flying than loosing both ailerons. ;)

Doesnt it usually then show in green in the radio bar that one of the control areas have been damaged. For example, i see quite often something like:

Your rudder control damaged by .50 cal bullet

    or:

Your aileron control damaged by 20mm cannon

or something to that effect? Another one which shows up similiar is:

Your flaps are stuck due to G overload

The point being that if what Comet described is what is happening, you should be warned about it in the channel bar that it has happened.

there is a possibility that a bullet will hit the controls of some control surfaces. sometimes killing both ailerons, rudder, vator, etc.
