Ages ago (with stuttering voice), i played this flight sim with sinclair spectrum. Canґt remember year, maybe mid 80ґs. Canґt remember name of the game either. May heve been as difficult as "Flight Simulator". Then some other sim with amiga. Canґt remember that either. GOD DAMN IT I AM REALLY GETTING OLD!! AND I AM STILL A LOUSY PILOT!! Just recently, in past year,to be exact, i FINALLY got myself internet connection (after long and exhausting negotiations with my "government") and found this ancient hobby of mine again! Welcome chaika! Solong, sex-life. Now i am starting to train my three "co-pilots", so they donґt have to be so shamed of their flying skills as their supposed father....
Well, I started with MS Flght Simulator 3.x on the Atari 1040 STf in (I don't know for sure) 1989 or something. Then, I flew AfterBurner on the Atari Lynx. Enter the PC: Dawn Patrol took me a lot of effort just get it goin, so I only played it for 2 months. After that, I never flew up to march 2002, when Ray V. introduced me to WarBirds.
my first "sim" was an Atari's Battlezone (i think it was named like that - not much of a graphics there...only pure vectors) on the original arcade machine back in the 85' or so...whole machinery was amazing, steering, sounds, feeling... and beginning from that time, i played almost every sim available for the home platforms
Ah! Flight Unlimited, of course! This still my favourite civil aircraft simulator because of all the focus on aerobatic maneuvers and aircrafts wich im simply addicted. I loved to roll upside down flying the Grob just after the take-off behind the towplane I just couldn't get my Flight Unlimited to run in windows 98 (my Flight Unlimited was running in DOS). Any help, illo?
P.s. i forgot "baron" (1982) from commodore 64, funny game in 2D with 3 colours wich allowed to make only dive, climbs and loopings
Hi Haupt, >Afaik it also had a version to Windows 95 too. You're right - I think I still have the CD somewhere. Flight Unlimited is still superior in simulation quality to everything I've seen since Regards, Henning (HoHun)
