excellent! i'll give you coordinates of objects and you will identify them visually on TA. the problem is that sometimes it's radiomast, sometimes fuel cistern, or sometimes bridge section, and sometimes it's factory. i'll install new lands on TA and provide you with list of questionable objects.
close to coordinates i will give, visually identify whether it is a factory or bridge mast or hut or cistern
first stage: it's a diff of real arena configs (named etalon) and terrain parser program output second column is a field or closest field coordinates can be verified by .pos command you must approach coordinates and identify objects at these points in general, terrain problems are that fixed identifier (e.g.HG02 or HG14 or ST10 etc) can represent different objects at different maps. probably ien designers could not memorise these identifiers and used the same id another way each terrain. at this stage we can understand which identifier problems terrains have exactly and probably character of problems. or understand that problems are truly random. next stage will be north america and south pacific: same task of visual identification of objects with problematic identifiers. but these maps have no verified configs that can be used as etalons, and identification of problematic ids should be accomplished again. ok?
I have a free time now so i wanted to work on the maps, but i am a quite confused, pls write me what is what, i think i know, but... maybe i am wrong, so pls write me what is 1st number, 2nd number, 3rd number, etc... example: ***** WBMEDRL2-ETALON.TXT 0x0093 38 03 0xfffda235 0xfffc56b4 0x00000000 #40mm AA (G331)
93h is number of object in the list of objects of the map 38 is the closest field 03 is the type of an object detected by terrain parser xh:xh:xh are coordinates on the map. compare with your .pos command # is comment indicator, after it the line does not have use. but comment contains a detected type of the object through client handle (i.e.HG01) i.e. warbirds sends "i hit object#93h with 100lb bomb, please process the damage calc" server checks that it's an object of type 03, highly probably 40mm aaa. and decides whether 100lb is enough for it. for hangar it's not sufficient, 2-4 100lb bombs needed
Ill risk now to be very stupid, but I must ask some question about new guinea map. Exec, do you have 2 new guinea maps, both being same , but with names WBNGS1 and WBNGS2 ? I have 2 same maps, different names, both working offline, so i somehow thought , mb one of those is correct with targets, locations, names?
There must be another way , other than flying over and driving through targets? I even entered fuel cistern, hangar, hut, but coordinates are so sensitive , like 10cm forward, different set of coords. Can I walk on foot or something? Btw, on this map there are mountains, islands not even shown until you reach it..
trn002 BoB trn003 Midway na1 North America tobruk Tobruk and I have 2 of pacific maps pac2 and pac3 I don't know difference
