I've been at 13700m with a FW190D9, in a flight dedicated to break the altitude record in FH... I forgot to annouce it here since the flight was aborted.
I found a B17 flying below me at 11Km, and I simply couldn't let the guy drop on my base, you know what I mean [IMG]

Lol, I'm strangely moved when I read this, my P51D only got to 37000ft... and there I got stuck coz I didn't knew a good climb speed setting... so I just turned my plane 180 travelled another 200 miles, and then passed F1 again after flying off the map for quite long

    Hi,

speaking about altitude records, I just climbed to 30000 ft in a G4M. Not quite voluntarily, as I had two fighters on my tail!

I'm sure I'd have avoided them, but - as I reached 30000 ft, the engines all of a sudden made a decidedly unhealthy noise, and quit delivering any power to the propellers!

As soon as I had dropped a little, engine noise returned to normal, and I had my power back.

Did anyone ever encounter that? It's leaving me puzzled!

    Regards,

    Henning (HoHun)

it's artificial altitude limit. Some planes (well all planes [IMG] ) have climb different form RL. So to this is used to stop'em from climbing forever [IMG]
