The first thing I noticed when I first flew in the FHMA was no more engine over heating. I missed engine management, still do, but have never seen it mentioned in the forum and don?t know why this feature is ?OFF? here.

Why do we not have over heating & engine seizures?

Yeah it would be a nice feature, but I dont think its supported in early WB.

probably engine damage from overheating was in old versions of ien.
now it just turns off wep, nothing more.

Gryphoon- don't mix the problem of oil lack in non-radial engines and carburator-fed engines fuel cutoff with the engine management.

Engine management=prop pitch controll+fuel/air mixture controll+throttle+radiator fans controll+supercharger controll (if any is installed and it isn't automatic, but 2-gear one f.ex.)+water/methanol injection system controll(MW50 in german planes)

Go to IL2 or TR to get hands on those. In WB it's impossible to modell them, hence the Thrust is responsible for normal controll of all engine management aspects (T100+WEP being something like "full power", radiator closed, supercharger on, prop pitch optimal, mixture rich; MW50/Boost/Forsazh Enabled, limited time; T100-"full power", radiator slightly open, supercharger on, prop pitch optimal, mixture rich, T80 "full power", radiator open, supercharger off, prop pitch optimal, mixture lean)

Yes, it was old ien and yes WEP turns off without damage here.

Shame WEP just turns off, was nicer when runners burned out their engine :)

Lots to chew on there frog, but I'm not asking for something that was not already there.

Simply fly with your temp gauge in the red for too long and.....seized!!

Its been so long since dead engines have been on WB I had all but forgotten about it......Was indeed a nice feature...I think in going to il2 anyway, so- no matter, finally got tired of the russian bullshit aspects on this game.

Not smart, I just made an attemp at hijacking... Obviously failing. :D
I for one does not find an urge for engнne management as stated by above, I have (as you know) trouble enough as it is... Inserting yet another aspect would be (for me, that is) unneccessary.
Almost like the F1 games where you have to choose which octane gas for Brasil GP vs Monte Carlo (yeyeyeye, a BIT exagerrated)
Good for the real die hard simmers, but I'm happy to drive, or as in this case fly.

The over heating engine was no big thing reub...you soon learn to watch the temp gauge.

The over heating engine is fine but, please, do not transplant the silly procedure to switch engine on from Target Rabaul... Like Reuben said, it may turn on sexually the die hard simmers but after the first coulpe of days it becames a pure senseless hitting keys mania just to take off, at least for the 90% of MA players... Look for realism elsewhere...
