But those are Navy dudes. Why would they muck around with P-40s? And why would a Zeke have English instructions written on it? :p ;) *hopes it isn't a Zeke or a P-40*

Definitely a Buffalo. Google even brought up that exact image when I searched for Buffalo.

Buffalo, the rear of the canopy gives it away.

It's a Buffalo but there's no snow nearby. So it's a Buffalo in the wrong place... :)

0ui, F2A & cc, the canopy that tells the tale.

the "no grip", i dont know what good it does on the outside. AFAIK the one reason you're not supposed to put your hand there, is so your hand doesnt get cut off if the canopy unlocks on landing or braking & esp. in arrested landings,
but you cant see that "no grip" from inside. they would have that problem if they'd just rub shit or maybe puss on that canopy rails

    tryin to be funny...
    I know:

    Buffalo

    Bison

Bison are sometimes called buffalo for the same reasons Aboriginal North Americans are called Indians.

Some stupid Euro who proclaimed himself discoverer of a continent with tens of millions of happy people already living there thought he was in fuckin India, where BUFFALO and Indians live.

There used to be Bison in Brewster, NY, but there weren't any buffalo, not unless some chinks who owned farms needed beasts of burdens, but most chinks here just used other chinks for that.
