Please count me in and my two Czech friends to Samurai unit too. It needs some login to edit roster.

Looks like easy job for jap pilots.

    So 7. 10. 2007 ?

Yesterday I was asked for taking a lead of red side. I agreed, but I think when pappy applied first, he should follow. Maybe he also started with briefing preparation still. I can support pappy if necessary.

Everything for this event has been made in a hurry so no time for equal preparation. There i see no chance for coordinated tactical movements. We will improvise at all i guess :)

It was good one. I think i got 2 cons.

After take off, i send our recon plane over midway and start patroling 5,5,5 behind our main fleet with zeroes.

We haven't any work here till f4 was dead. Our fuel gone low so i send 3 zeroes closer to f1 and rtb with 2 zeroes to refueling, but...reds find and attack our fleet when we was disperse and trying go to landing. The 3 zeroes got some cons. Unfortunatelly i said to my pilots, that the best way is shot down leader to kill whole formation...damn bad mistake:D After land and refueling, whole action was ruined because reds starts attacking our fleet and my fighters were without amno and fuel, or so low, so i tried get them high enough(like IRL midway battle:D ), so we got some kills, but one CV was destroyed and imho one damaged. Everybody has order "fire at will and safe our CVs at all cost". One of my pilots got 2 planes by guns and one by kamikaze.;) I was firing in leader a high amount of munition hoping i got all three TBF:D I didn't kill anything and got it:D After take off some SDB attacked our CV and heavily damaged it. Now i had enough fighters to defend CVs in alt and we flew to F1 and tried engage anything we find. I got in this short time only f4f and then f1 was closed and we won.

    Some points:
-these short icons imho wasn't good idea, i didn't know if I'm attacked or it is only wingman
-there was some problem with whitelist, but it was OK
-connection wasn't good, cons little warped to me.

It was good event, hope the next will be soon.

    Salute
    and THX to all
    esspeciallity my pilots:
pavlou, slater, sebran, -cbfs- and biber-.

First need to say - after long time it was real fun! No matter i was sitting all time in twr typing in the keyboard... [IMG]

Hard to say who won, because objectives were not exactly defined and we hadn't enough time to consult it with other guys. I would say it was 50% / 50%. Reds sink 2 or 3 (need to confirm) Japanese (gold) CVs and saved all USN CVs. Golds focused fully to closing Midway fields. I has succeeded them imho until the end of frame. But they dindt touch - better say they didnt find any - red Cvs (or didnt wanted?).

Defending Midway fields was tough job when its almost impossible shot down droned buff with 0.5 caliber of F4F. On other hand - sink CV is really hard work, because its - on the contrary to ground field - evading. In this reds make really great job.

So it depends from which angle we look at. From historical the reds won strategically I would say - they didnt loose any CV and sink some enemys. From tactical point of view - maybe golds when closed (finally) Midway fields.

Doesnt matter - it was great fun and i hope not last one on TH. On the contrary - it should be beginnign of new era of our gameplay [IMG]

WTG for all, thanks pilots for courage and following orders and - big thanks to TH team for great job.

    Hold on!

Aye, it was a great scenario! I flew the recon A6M that hugo mentioned - apart from some early skirmishes there wasn't much going on below me, so I spent a rather long time orbiting above F1 and F2 at 6-7.5km alt.

Fuel kept getting lower - despite throttle management - and I followed a formation of enemy bombers that were going for F4, then got orders to return to F3. There, I spotted another formation (TBFs) and got permission to attack - they were heading straight for F3!

These damned things just wouldn't fall out of the sky! I concentrated fire on the left escort and managed to hit him with about 10x20mm but there was no visible damage. Another Zero joined the fight and I changed my attacks from HO to vertical slashing ones. Minimal hits from their ottos, but in one of my reversals on the top of the attack, the TBFs turned and I was exposed to gunner fire from their top turrets. I wasn't killed, but there was a fuel leak which meant the fight was over for me (was already in the red). Managed a couple more attacks and then glided home after the two remaining TBFs crashed in the sea (suicide?). Unfortunately, my airplane exploded when I tried to ditch near F3. I thought it was smooth enough, but obviously rustiness took its toll there...

When I took off for the second time, our nearby carriers were severely damaged and there were quite a few bomber formations attacking from higher altitude. Soon after I spotted an F4F that sneaked behind one of our buffs - the screams on the radio certainly drew my attention! In the beginning there were two of us on him, then another F4F joined and it turned into an F4F-A6M-F4F-A6M (< me) choo-choo train. I got one, the other Zero shot down the other. An F4F attacked me and we did some loops, I think I either got him or he was chased away by a friendly (I wish there was replay navigation capability!)

Getting close to F1 I felt like home! Dogfight galore! Stuff blowing up and A6Ms vs. F4Fs everywhere. Not to mention the buffs streaming in at low altitude. Bad aim at the start of the second mission meant that I ran out of cannon shells very soon after arriving over F1. Nevertheless, I used 7mm and probably shot two more cons down. Thanks to the Zero that scared the F4F who was on my tail! Whoever you were. Arrived above our carriers after the end of the scenario, 25% left of my 7mm load. There was a disco on my landing approach, which probably saved me from another embarrassing crash!

    Oh.. WE WON TOO! :@prayer:

Connection was ok here, and I will agree with hugo about the icons - they seemed to be set at D6 - D10 would have been much better.

    Still, WTG TabaHost team!

    :super:

EDIT: After watching the replay, I must say I feel sorry for suffering from Alzheimer's at this tender age! Forgot quite a bunch of engagements! Tally may be 2 kills, 1 assist and 1 steal :)D) There weren't any messages from -host- so we might never know. I have put up my replay here, let me know if it doesn't work.

cc we specialized our plans to close fields, that was our victory goal, so we didn't searching for CVs.

    Recon did great job.

Icons could be at least D15 imho.

Hard to shot down anything at TH imho.

It is any possibility to set no map function on TH? it could be useful in some scenarios
