Moment of Silence Hi all,,,,,,I feel a moment of silence should be observed for one of finest fighter pilots to ever take to the air,,,unfortunately,,his life was cut terribly short in a freak bail-out incident. <pauses for a moment> >S< forever Hans-Joachim Marseille Adolf 'AdiGal' Galland
Hey exec. They were twins? And both had only one single eye like this --> X ??? j/k pic wont load for me.
Why do these thread topics always get twisted around? I started this as a little memorial to Hptm. Marseille. I did not start this thread so we could debate who was good and who was better; such things are quite meaningless. This was started as a tribute to the memory of a Jagdflieger, and suddenly I have people saying such and such a pilot was better because of such and such...I don't think that belongs here at all. Jochen
I say again... That's way off topic. Thanks to the fellas who respected this thread as it was intended... Jochen
Not directly, anyways. Point is, I envisioned a rather solemn memorial here...a few small bits of cyberspace devoted to a single pilot on the anniversary of his tragic death, and then the topic just turns to the VVS pilots...that's not really what this thread is about. Jochen
Yes -exec- you are off-topic in an off-topic thread. Don't do that again or I'll have to censor you! Don't make me use my God powers over you!!
"That's way off topic. Thanks to the fellas who respected this thread as it was intended..." I've been respectful, and I didn't try to twist the topic... I just wanted to post pics in his memory. You are not talking to me, but if so... accept my appology. @fuhrer I think he died bailing out
Marseille did a pull up and was hoping to have an easier bail by that (his plane suffered some mechanical errors), but all went wrong, and due to a leap of fathe he landed on his vertical stabiliser... instant death... at least that's what I recall, I can look it up, but I'm too lazy, the description of the accident on the site Snake eye gave was a bit incomplete... they make it appear as if it's the fall that killed him, it just was his own plane... smack... boom, stupid way to lose the - arguably - most skilled pilot of the Luftwaffe... greetze, Zembla
