as we all know il-2 is quite good DF and field defender (very reallistic huh?) but... ...have You ever seen Pe2 as E-fighter? look at this short track - pe2 dived almost vertical from about 2km and then pk me by his f**in' otto... i think no comments needed at this moment i will shoot to all il-2 or pe-2 till pk
Esp, think of it as being attacked by Pe-3 fighter Little difference between these two. Anyway, would you be surprised if you were attacked by 110 like this ? Pe-2 and 110 have similar basic concept and size. Pe-2 is marginally heavier, has dive brakes and poor forward armament.

LOL ! Seems like u've never flew on red side. We've got - pe2 - 2x12mm in front 1 otto 1x12 bottom 1 x7.62 up. And now the usual gold plane named me410, with 4x20 or 2x20 and 2x30 in front, 2x12 otto and much better speed then pe2. So did u ever though of compareing these 2 planes ?
that "fighter il-2": 1.was decreased in controlalbility at low speeds 2.retained actual maneuverability that fh dare to exploit, while conventional real-life il-2 pilots did not even knew about those capabilities. pe-2 was originated from long range fighter (see german 110). experienced pilot in il-2 (and pe-2) is not an sitting duck. but you'd feel more comfortable swearing about il-2 and pe-2 than remember those two facts and learn how to kill those.
Pe-2's strong point has always been its ottos... they always been sniper, as vought said: nothing new.
some people consider the il2 to be the best russin plane built during war war 2 and thats saying somthing with the yaks and las being such strong agile lo alt fighters. Pe2s are just as capble in dog fight as a p38 and 410 munuvebiltys about the same. pe2s got a very fast firing top 7mm gunner. and a slightly slower but much more efective 12mm bottom gunner were con like to sneak up. Plus if your close to dead 6 both guns can see and hit u. as for nose gun i thought it was 1 12mm, but when i score hits with it latly show hits is always showing 7mms and no 12s anyone else notive this? and was pe2 at 33? i attacked a con lo 33 in pe2 after gold reseat. had his 6 almost hole time and ottos shot once for 2 secons. i had him d3 in verticle climb scoring hits when imaufo came in and got a pk on him in spit. And so u know i was inb to 33 hvy for close but apone meating up with 2 b25s. went to cover fighter instead.
