pls tell me the name of car which made in Russian.

    Hello , Guys.
    Pls tell me a name of car as follows.
    This photo was taken at Jena ( east of German ) by my friend.
    He heard it made in Russia, but he couldn't get the name of the car.
    He is repenting it.
    I shall be much obliged if you would give me some explanation too.

    this device is named ZAZ-### (i don't remember the number of the model).
    ZAZ is acronym from Zaporozhski Avtomobilny Zavod, that means Zaporozhye Automobile Factory.
    Zaporozhets is colloquial name of this apparatus.

    Zaporozhye is geographical region sumwer in Ukraine, afair.
    Zaporozhets is a resident of this place.

    ZAZ-968 aka "Ushasty" (not sure about English equivalent) named after it's rear air intakes for air-cooled engine

    What I remember about that car was it's sound - clearly recognizable from up to 2 miles from epicenter :D

    А двигатель у него как у P39 - за спиной пилота :) переведите это им. А то они моторчик омывателя ветрового стекла за двигатель примут :)

    It looks like there is no plate number on this magic :)
    Could you ask your friend whether he knows if a driver of this Ukrainian Porsche was fined by police for breaking the speed limit :D

    BTW it is one of the most comfortable cars manufactured in USSR for tall people. :D There is enough space to stretch your legs when u're sitting next to driver. Because, an engine is located at the back side of the car.

    It is a kind of stupid new busines with all models of Zaporozets here (espesialy Gorbatyj, don't know exact # of model, but it is not the same as Gorby-Gorbachev :) ) . Some firms are making pretty good tuning of this "car". They change engine ( up to 150 hp), generators ets... They coat with modern beautiful paint , make a lot of spoilers, make leather seats or al salon, HI-END music.
