My guess is that the alleged "teddy bear" is actually one of those "catasses" that were popular during the late 80's and early 90's. It is probably also striped, so it looks like someone cut Garfield in half closing the door. (the catasses were available in a few flavours; cat, dog, and I think Iv'e seen penguin or possibly cow (was B/W anyway ) )
It was a special anti-tank unit, but it never got to mass production due to the fact that the Allies bombed the factory which made the saddles.
