While they are stealing your food, they will, between mouthfuls, tell you how much they appreciate your [looks, cooking, poetry, culture, hair style etc] I would have been happy to see a picture or your yard or your town, or a list of your ten favorite books. Bears aren't interested in eating your books, most of them will carry on past your picknick table in their eternal search for things to eat. They aren't interested in your books.
