I whould like to know if anyone is getting some wbd3d.exe errors in windows. I have to reboot my PC every 5 minutes and cant play wb, it starts by getting a yellow beacon and then getting a red one. After that only by pressing alt+F4 to exit the game and then reboot to clear the following error window: An exception (C000005) ocurred during DllEntryPoint or DllMain in module: C:\Program Files\Freehost Launcher\Wsock32.dll WBD3D caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:64657070. I'm have LOTS of connection problems to FH now, since the last 2.7.7 upgrades... My beacon is always turning RED, but without being disconnected... If I type something into the channel, other people will receive me, but my FE doesnt get any answer... What's going on? It's happening all the time mcosta Sturmtruppen

Mcosta funny you should mention that, those are the only 2 proxies that have work reliably for me the last 2 weeks and the last 4 or 5 days I have had the same problem along with a few of my squad mates. In running a visual route to those IP's I find I am 12 and sometimes 13 hops away and that on some occasions there is packet loss at the 10th hop but that when the 10th hop isn't Russian Academy of Sciences, my connection is usually pretty good. But I am still collecting data. Non of the other proxies comes close to the ping time of .13 and .241 so can something be done to stabalize these two or to improve the ping time for others. Thanks.
you could try moving the winsock dlls out of freehost and warbirds folders (not deleting) and use Windows' dlls .
I think that is not such a good idea... I don't know how FH launcher is now implemented, but I think it's more or less the same way as it was... and the costumized wsock32.dll is a major part in FH connection... without it, you cannot here... ( please correct me if I'm wrong... I didn't have time yet to take a closer look on the new system ) mcosta Sturmtruppen
Along with Snoopy, .241 and .13 have been the best for me too. Also, my connection has been worse since the implement of 2.77, not saying it's directly related. My best average ping lately has been =>450ms , where it normally is around 200-250ms. As for Platy, maybe your best solution is to uninstall/re-install WB. Good luck! Lem
It seems that is more stable now, i hasn't crashed for a while. And if it does instead of restarting windows i run WB again and the error window stays there but i can play. So until i have a solution i guess I'll have to play like that ------------------ platy- Sturmtruppen
If the problem persevered, perhaps you could try using 16 bit modules if you're not yet using them... just an idea... (Switch desktop to 16bit color depth) I'm not such a PC brainiac... greetz, Zembla
ok.. i take back my words! same happens here. last weekend i had 2 bad warpy days, and warps appeared everytime i entered a furball. you know, all those directions, speeds, vectors etc to send back and forth repeatedly. and in some of those warps the beacon goes red forever. if i push alt+F4, WB closes, and i get that error msg. (sry, didnt memorize what it said) and then had to reboot beefore that illegal operation msg locks up the pc. cya nicae ps: good luck farid! and plz note i use 2d, so its not exclusivly a 3d problem. Well its oficial, its not an isolated error. Nicae my advise to you is: do the same thing i do, instead of rebooting try running FH again and see if you get another error, i haven't received another error when i do this and even if it doesn't resolve the error i can play. Now is up to you (developers) to try and find out what went wrong, anyway excelent work guys we need more ppl like you. ------------------ platy- Sturmtruppen
