The WB IP Helper shows me min/max 100/3000, a DOS-ping 80/150, both on same IP`s. Somebody who can explain the difference?
Don't make DOS (Denial of Service) pings! The difference is that Launcher shows something like game ping, while TCP/IP ping shows protocol packet bounce time. IMHO.
i thought, fh-launcher shows pingtime to target AND back, the double way. and dos shows the pingtime one-way??
i remember when FH launcher was launched ( ) they said "Exec>that Launcher shows something like game ping". i believe in that. but i get confused.. if thats the game ping, what is ".pingtest"? the game ping of the game ping?
got an answer. first ping is TCP/IP service. second ping is handmade test by Farid and Aike. third ping is IEN's feature with unknown logics.
So I can choose the ping with the best result to tell it to other pilots how good is my connection <img src="graemlins/znaika.gif" border="0" alt="[Znaika]">
Some weeks ago Ivan said .pingtest gives the real game ping. I understand that is the time that game data actually passes. When I connected through http-proxy recommended to me by illo the FHL ping decreased slightly while the .pingtest was cut in half. PS: The list of http-proxies is at beacon.here.de. Could anyone tell me which is the best one? Or I have to try all?
