I was one of the guys that PM'ed you about your contacts. After reading the article in the 26 July issue of Time magazine about the "honor" killings of women now going on in Iraq, I understand your position. To us Westerners, this type of thing is totally incomprehensible but we must understand that this is an entirely different culture with a completely different take on things. In the Green Zone, booze is readily available. A few Iraqi residents in the Green Zone have gone into business selling this stuff out of their houses to Westerners in the Green Zone. Porn is readily available at the Haji mart. Many Iraqis are very business savvy. Some of them have quickly learned that we have an affinity for porn so what they are doing, now that satellite dishes are allowed in Iraq, is digitally copying porn onto DVDs and selling this stuff to Westerners. But tail is a completely different story. I am sure that it is available someplace in Baghdad but getting to it is extremely difficult because of the culture here. I will keep trying and if I hit paydirt, I will definitely post it here but in a discreet manner. FYI, I am working with Iraqi soldiers and we should begin combat ops in Baghdad later on this month. Perhaps I will be able to score some tail in between the ambushes, mortar attacks, car bombs and RPG attacks.

Generally, you will find Iraqi people are very hospitable and many will invite you to their homes for meals, but these girls are looking for one things and one thing only ?a way out if the country, marriage or green card. I and I imagine several hundred troops, contact workers and security personel based here have been trying to get these girls to give up the panties but to no avail. I guess based on the law of averages that some guys have been lucky but none that I know and believe me we have been trying - its extremely difficult to move about this city especially after dark and even worse if you are a foreigner.

So please take my advice ? don?t come to Baghdad just for sex, just come to Iraq to make the big money available here and for mongering activities I suggest you go for R&R to Dubai (3 hours away) or Bangkok (7 hours), Manila (9 hours) Rio (18 hours)

People keep saying pays well but to be honest, this isn't 2003. Its calmed down enough new contracts are paying less that I was making working in Kosovo back in '02 and I lived off based getting drunk everyday screwing the locals in Kosovo. Iraq is suffering from standard been there too long syndrome. Give it another year or two and pay will be comparable to the states+50% instead of states+100% like it is now or states+300% like it was in '03. Might do another year myself ... still in limbo about that.

Its not that they don't wash or bathe, its that they have a difficult time cleaning their clothes. Imagine wearing the same pair (or two) of dirty under garments in the hot sun all day every day, washing them in dirty water with minimal soap, the wearing them again. Its not so much the women themselves are dirty, its the close. Have noticed this with poor folk everywhere. Seem it with Syrian women, chinese peasents, Bosnia girls in moutain villages. Laundry just isn't a neccessity and the stench often rubs off. Just wrap it, don't go down on it, or have them shower first. Non issue.
