better fly under 200mph and closer than d1 than land near ditched plane.

rescue mission isn't possible when cons near.

it would be nice same with bailed pilots if it is possible, till bailed pilot type exit.

@ hugo: Bailed pilots automatically disappear at the ground, which is probably part of the source code of the game.

Afaik, that cant be tampered with?

The i15, spitfire, and other red butterflys will make great rescue planes.........that is.........once the command actually works, I made 6 attempts today to rescue "beat--" and every time it failed.

I would pass him, turn around, so i faced him, typed in ".save beat--" and would put flaps down a notch and make a "swooping" motion to get well within d1 at 198km/h acording to show data......no success.

I have done this on several occasions, have tracks somewhere, but the hardest part is not the landing without removing gear. The hardest part is taking off again without doing it.

I think this feature should go one step further. Only Transports can rescue, make so that ditched pilot has no option but to wait for rescue or death. Once ditched a timer could start, so if the pilot has not been picked up by timer end, they are automatically killed, and kill goes to person who caused ditching.

While timer is active, pilot can not get out of plane except by rescue or capture as the case may be.

Maybe a single transport could pick up as many downed pilots as the plane can carry, and all he needs to do is get them back within visual range of a friendly field in order to effect rescue/capture. More jobs for the transports too, and the rescues/captures could be added to his stats.

    regards, Oz

But rescue missions were passed with fighters too.

Maybe rescue planes like li2 or ju52 can carry more pilots with higher speed and distance.

    What about catalina?

IRL soviet pilots often risked their lives and machines to take a friend out of enemy territory (of course, if landing conditions were appropriate). And I suppose, FH must require LANDING/TAKEOFF procedure.

if you need to be slow, don't try to do it with a 190. Use planes that can stand low speed. Like transports, ju87s, etc...

    For big-jo:

Here's a track of landing/takeoff of LI2 I recorded earlier, just to see if it could still be done with latest settings.

As usual...delete the '.txt' from the end. (Admins: how about allowing .trk files??)

    regards, Oz
