I've been having very much fun there lately. There is just so few ppl online. Come on! Please have patience to configure your controls, graphics, ammo belts, convergence and stuff. If you need help i try to answer. download from: http://www.targetrabaul.com/
I love the flight model. I haven't fired my guns in anger yet. When I join I am just a target, I tell people I am flying to log some hours and if they can find me and shoot me, then go for it. And I tool around looking at the still-to-be-polished scenery and enjoying the handling of the planes. And I am happy to say no one has shot at me and I have had many planes form on my wing.
From what I've read on the T:R BBS it is kick ass, but my machine is a bit weak to support it otherwise I would be in aplenty
Yep, I'll double that... It runs slower than a one-legged tortoise and crashes to desktop whenever I attempt to start a game... I believe my graphics card is the culprit... Looks like 32MB isn't cutting edge anymore
I made a couple of small (<2mb and pointless) TR movies. http://www.saunalahti.fi/meheko/f4u.avi http://www.saunalahti.fi/meheko/f4u2.avi http://www.saunalahti.fi/meheko/beaukill.avi (Compressed with virtualdub from TR "guncam" avi.)
i'll be there for you Actually there was 14ppl online today and we had some coinvincing scenarios. That made me realize what a blast it would be with some more ppl.
it is necessary to bear in mind that TR is not big arena style simulator like WB or AH and it is not chaotic do what you can style like IL2 it is event based sim - gives it spirit even when not many ppl online I like it
Yeah I kinda felt the same K, only problem is I can't seem to find MiG Alley anywhere... anybody still has a copy and an FTP he can upload to? if neg on the ftp I can fix that <Z>
It's almost impossible to enter a spin with these Targetware-planes. Why? Okay, they stall fairly, the sound and the shudder simulates it, one wing goes down, but that's all. Where are those Ensign Eliminator-characteristics?
@Kutya --- it is because in RL it was quite impossible to put most of the planes into uncontrolled spin ... all simulators are quite out of the bowl concerning this aspect on the other hand, TR FM is not finished yet... I agree that *some* spins could happen to undamaged plane
as written above, it is NOT ready game...Ensign Eliminator's name came mostly out of its terrible torque effect (and TR is the best in this aspect, although FM's are sometimes tweaked up or down a bit), which often killed ensigns during take off (swoosh to the side and bum)... I personally like that there are not so many ppl there (kinda small community, w/o any lamers shouting in the buffer, calling ppl etc.)...i wish it never become a "sim for the masses"...
They have P-39 in T:R, no? That should be quite spinnable if accurate...any rudderless plane shouldnt be hard to spin either ;}
