    yeah I know... I was hoping you'd mby link anyway so that antred can be ashamed again that it was me who guessed the plane, not him :p

    @ant: I mean the rear part of the pilot's compartment, not the booms ;)
    The booms are ok, nice, long, slim... booms ;)

    109?
    both were in the israeli independence war (109 as the avia s-199) & were in production well before august 1939.
    the first yp-38 was delivered in sept 1938, so i guess production had started well earlier (maybe not, usa was tops at high speed factory production). when did they start on the first D model? was it a conversion of the yp?

    Well, I don't want to get into that discussion here right now. I'm just putting info out for the most appealing military aircraft of my opinion as a favorite. :)
