Well.... Thursday the 30th 'till Monday the 3rd some guys from AFVS (Achtung, -Glas- and malino for sure, Grobar/Kolio is still trying to get his shit together) will come over to my home-town of Rotterdam. We'll be drinking beer, smoking pot, visiting Amsterdam and, basically, having a good time.
However: this is, in fact, an AFVS-meeting. We have made an exeption for Zembla (JG 13) as:
    a. We all know the big Z quite well (I was in JG 13, too), and
    b. He lives in Hove, Belgium, which is 1 1/2 hours travelling from Rotterdam.
    c. It's only for a single day.

    As for other non-AFVS pilots:

    1. We (AFVS) have been in touch with eachother through e-mail and of course Freehost for a long time and now we want to have time to get to know eachother in real life. Since Zembla is well-known to us we view him as an "Honor-AFVS member".

    2. Another reason for this "decision" is that I haven't got the capacity or time to organise hotel-rooms for more people. So if you could come over for a single day that would be great, but a night's stay would become very difficult (also due to the fact that there are NO hotel-rooms left in Rotterdam. The Rotterdam International Film Festival is that exact week, sooooo.... :( )

I feel really rude (not to say: a complete motherfucker) telling you you can't come over, but I was planning on having fun with my squadmates and my mate Zembla. :(

But of course, you DID get me thinking, BarT...... So: here's my first promise.... You are welcome to come to the Netherlands any time. Just drop me a line (here or on baskemp@yahoo.com) and I'll gladly make arrangements in hotels for you. Then, I'll show you all the best coffee-shops in Rotterdam AND Amsterdam!
And now for the second promise: If I get this whole mess organised and succesfull, I'll be organising an NW-europe meeting in a couple of months. That means ALL WB-freehost Pilots meeting in either Rotterdam or Amsterdam, for at least 5 days.

And you, BarT, will be the first one I make arrangments for! :)

Hey sebbo, zembla is ex-AFVS, so it has nothing wrong about it ;)

    I guess you didn't know that :D

Okay, okay.... But for the other dutchmen it isn't that big a deal of course!

So, who are coming over anyways?

    - Achtung
    - Glas
    - Malino
    - Basman / Sebbo, yours truly.
    - Dutchi
    - Birdy
    - Puff
    - Wardog
    - Zembla
    - Apocalypse
    - ? Kolio ?
    - Sebbo's SR, Isabelle :UU: :D Not a pilot, but fun to be with nonetheless. And NO, I will not lend her out! :)

That was during the time that I moved into my new house. You know, when I was computer-less..... :joystick:

Hope I'll never have to live through that experience again :help:

Last year I had round trip. NYC -> MSK -> NYC for only 780USD for 2 persons. It means that I payed for 370 USD for one person. Guess it's cheap enought, isn't it?

    I flyed by Aeroflot.

Finally I wont succeed to go to the NL in time. :( It was great chance because I`m travelling anyway to the UK to study there for 1 semester.

Bart, as a leader of AFVS, I tell you just about everyone is welcome to our meetings (and to our squadron :)). But this meeting is hosted and organized by basman/sebbo and, well, it depends on him. I can only try to convince him, not to be such a bastard.

1st, grobar is wrong or intentionally not saying the truth

2nd Basman has been spending LOTS of time and efforts to make this thing work, and it's not fair u accusse him of a decission taken for 6 ppl if i'mnot wrong. Just' dont kill the messenger mate

3rd The final decission was that anyone who was friend of just 1 of us, and with our common interests was welcomed

4th i was against that, but i also said (as more of us) that if the decision was that someone else was coming, would be great and we'd have more fun, for sure!

don't doubt it was not a personal actitude against someone ;)
