Don't be so happy, Saddan. Couse this is Venezuela's army main battle tank. Since last few days there are big army maneuvers near border with Brazil. God only knows what they are planning...

AMX and ALX are combat planes with 4th generation ELBIT avionics, they are suited for Amazonic environment... We still need a top cover fighter in the class of Su-35 or Mig-31... But we have AWACS and ELINT aircraft, coupled to the most modern (Recently installed) project for amazon surveillance, using sats, the said aircrafts and ground based radars.

We have Command Guidance Missiles on development, almost ready, to be used in conjunction with SIVAM capabilities (Datalink scrambled inside radar signal), and other gadgets.

We spend 20 Billion year on the defense forces. Venezuela can sell all the gas they want, they aren´t anywhere near that. By the way, we have Leopard 1A5 and T-60TTS wich is still enought to deal with venezuela´s old AMX-13/14 tanks, while we can produce our OWN tanks if needed (Like the EE-T2 Osório). FOG-MPM can top kill a tank at 60km range. Astros II can rain death at a target 90km far, while the enemy is unable to counter-battery it... We have M109 and M108 self propelled artillery. Half a thousand M113, 250 Engesa Cascavel with noturn capabilities and 90mm cannon. Avibras produces our own air to ground precision bombs, missiles, etc. And we are partners at south africa missile houses, we can produce how much we want of almost any consumable... We can produce AMX without external interference (Even the engines and the onboard radar). The only aircraft still impossible for us is the AWACS ERJ-145 Eryeye due to the complex radar, but someday...

We can convert VLS to become a Surface to Surface missile, with 11000 km range (If it can reach space with a bare investment of 100 million/year, imagine what it can do with 1 billion year)... Well, Brazil´s industrial output is more than half the south america total, higher than some 1st world countries wich are highly dependent on the services market...

    Wow. Impressive.

    Is it real about Venezuella?

USSR/Russia official (and practiced) policy was to never sell weapons to aggressors.

What's the problem to go buy MiG-31s? Should be a great thing for long-range areas uncovered by SAMs and radar network. A squad of four 31s cover 700km of frontline, each one capable of tracking 4 missiles at 4 different targets, including missiles fired by other planes connected into a digital network. Enormous flight-time at 700km/h, M3 top speed, phase-array radar, other stuff. Designed to fill the gaps in aircraft-defence during a full-scale war with NATO, in case some SAM positions are knocked out by the enemy.

I think that after Brazilian cosmonaut flew Soyuz spaseship to ISS - Russia will eagerly sell any conventional weapon to you guys. You guys are the future.

Chavez may come to Stalingrad to bring flowers, shake hands with Putin, but if he'll start a war on his neighbours - all the weapons he already payed for will be suspended and Russian ships will turn back immediately.

When saw flying here in Italy, AMX are called more or less that way down here too :D
Maybe their best definition was "best warplane of peace time", altough during the bombing target practicing against Serbia, Italian AMXs (if I recall correctly) had the best things-that-explode-when-dropped/proper-target-hitted-not-some-youth-hostel-instead ratio of the conflict (done due proportion with plane involved).

    I think that means
Russia would never sell weapons to countries who were each other's enemies...

At least the Italians didn't bomb the Chinese embassy or mess with Pritshtina, like Crazy Clark. I wish that guy would go away. They still use him as a talking head on CNN, etc.

Invading Brazil? Why would Venezuela want to invade Brazil?
The statement is "not even wrong". It is just stupid.
