Adrian Severin is a former politician and diplomat. He did time - four years for corruption. Filmed while demanding bribe from journalists. Huge scandal.
Sorin Rosca Stanescu - journalist turned politician - two years for being involved in organised crime. Here we have powerful NGO's that protect the freedom of expression. None of them complained about Stanescu's case.

As far as Polish migration is considered - apart from the recent, "accession wave" (following our 2005 EU membership - with some 1.2-1.5 million people moving out permanently) there were 4 other "great waves", 3 of which were triggered by factors Russia contributed to.

The first was the 19th century migration fueled by poverty in the Russian-ruled Kingdom of Poland, and Habsburg-ruled Galicia and Lodomeria.

The other was one of the 1920s and 1930s - fueled by poor condition of Polish economy.

The next one came with the War and the Soviet occupation of Poland - some 2 millions of Poles decided not to return to Soviet Poland, or fled Poland until 1948-49 when the borders were sealed.

The last one came in late 1970s, and particularly after 13 December 1981 and the declaration of Marshall Law in Poland (also a Soviet-triggered factor).

With over 13 times the population density of Russia we don't have to worry.
We also do not depopulate as fast as Russia does (we loose 0.2 of a person per 1000 each year... Russia does loose over 7).
