RPS corrections.... ( according to a Bill Gunston book... )

    ME262 :
    Appears September 1944 (8/ZG26), until the end of the war ( 1st xperimental unit - May 44, 1st regular squad - 30 june 44 )
It should be used in every paved airfield.

    KI-43 :
Used until the end of the war, even if the production was halted in 1944.
Until there are more variants of it ( Ki-43-I and Ki-43-III ), the kitty should be used during the whole confict.

I've nothing more to add... for now [IMG]

Me262 differs much from other planes with its speed and so the reason that Me262 appears in our RPS at the end of ToD is because of balance. Even one Me262 can be very annoying when flying in some area.

And when you enter arena at the end of ToD you usually know as a red, that today you are hunting Me262, and that if there is a dot on your 6 in some seconds it can fire 30mm at you. But several days for it is too much.

Okay, so here's a question from RAF 321 Dutch Squad. We Dutchmen feel a little "discriminated".... :) Wouldn't it be possible to incorporate the DUTCH Fokker D.21 Fighter in Warbirds? The Finnish flew that plane too, so this could be quite funny... A fighter that can be used on both the red AND the gold side!

OK. I understand that you want to limit the time of the ME262 to a short period. But the current period is so short that I only get to fly it once every three TOD's. All too often I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning the ME262 has come and gone and the war has restarted with new TOD!

This is always a depressing occurence as the ME262 was availalbe so much longer in the real war and I fly the entire three weeks of hte TOD looking forward to getting to fly the ME262 only to have the 2 or 3 hours that it is available pass while I am asleep or worse, at work! Please make it available a LITTLE longer.

As for additional AXIS planes. This isn't strictly speaking a plane, but the ME 163 rocket plane would be nice. I know a couple of people who would like to see that come back. I think iEN did it for a couple of days but quit.

And I also agree with seahawk. I would like to be able to go along as a gunner in another pilots plane. Of course that raises the issue of what happens if that gunner position gets hurt or killed. But I am confident you can work that out.

Bottom line. Give us the ability to be gunners in other planes, or bombadier, give us the ME 262 long enough that we can get to fly it more then once every 2 and a half months, and the rocket plane. YEAH. GIVE ME SOME OF THAT!

    Thank you.

"Dutchies" should provide flight data, draws, colour and camo specifications (red-green-blue or cyan-magenta-yellow), and the cockpit bitmaps, that are desirable too.
    Ready?

    Hi to all!!

I'm agree with Me262 appears on finally of 1944 but if it's possible to restricc the number of planes of that one that can fly at the same time, because I don't want to see all golds with this plane and in WWII there are a few Me262. This is the reason of restric the number of Me262 flying at the same time.

And I'm flying for reds, but I want to kill one of Me262

PD: Sorry my english is very bad. I hope that all of you can understand me.

My reply to these matters will be the more explicit as I can be...

Go tell that to the GERMANS that developed it. Their idea was to WIN the war!
Do'n you think we axis have good time with the P51B/D/La5 ?
If you're going to use that in terms of comparations, then the P51 must be used in the 4 last months of the war...

ANNOYING. That's true, and in most ocasions it's nothing more than annoying... Do reds know what it is to dive at 900+ kmh, with a BRICK, give an accurate 1/10th of a second burst and get out? No, they don't...
Let's just say that it's one of the hardest things in WB...

For short, you gotta be a very skilled pilot to use the 262 effectivelly... ( that doesn't mean to kill an entire flight of cons... it means you patrol the skies and return to base after it.... )

BALANCE... since FH added a horde of Soviet planes to the game, it became UNbalanced, to the germans...
Do you want an example? Yak9T. The only thing I can recall that will _try_ to balance the game back is the inclusion of the 262 in Sept 44 ( + or - month... )

That's true and is happening to me all the time... Fortunatelly I can control the 262 pretty well... and since january I have flown the 262 only 5 or 6 times...

The 163 was an entirelly completelly matter. ICI ( before iEN times... ) added it to the 2.0 version of WB ( If I'm right... ) , but it proved to be an extremelly _unstable_ plane, that most of the times wouldnt even takeoff.
I presume that was due to flight model problems, but the truth is that Pyro was unable to implement it... ( That was what I was told back then... the actual story may be other... )
Me163/263... it's kinda a good idea... but for what? to be used in Aug '45 as well? In that case we don't need another prototype... [IMG]

That's other idea, but it's not the issue here. The issue is that the majority of reds can't kill a 262 because:
a : they don't know how to do it,
b : they cant do it,
    c : try to HEAD-ON with it.

It's VERY easy... get it when taking off or landing _OR_ get it after an attack ( yes, I'm giving the recipe to you reds... that way I dont wanna see any one of you complain about it again! ).
The 262 attacks, reaches 900km/h, fires ( kills or misses ), and now it's up to the 262 pilot:
a: maintains altitude - he's dead. his energy is going to lower due to the drag, so the speed is also going to drop. If a P51 follows him on the attack, he's gonna get the 262 1/3 minutes later... beleive me, this happened to me!
b: starts climbing again - when the 262 reaches 250km/h, it'll start to level _or_ to stop climbing that hard... this is the time for an HIGHER P51 to strike. The 262 is COMPLETELLY DEFENCELESS. If the 262 pushes too hard on the plane, it'll stall. If he dives, go to the beginning of this text.

    Got it? [IMG]

Gloster Meteor.... When are you folks going to implement it? If you do implement it, don't forget that it came _later_ than the 262, in inferior number and was used only to catch V1s...

Talking about V1s.... why the hell are the allies firing them? I suppose they only grabbed them when the war ended...

PS : The same applies to any future ME163/263/Gloster Meteor

Does that mean the Poles can provide the data about Polish a/c too and there would be a chance to implement some of our planes in WB too? [IMG]
Like for example PZL P.37 "Los" - one of the best early war light/medium bombers (2580kg bombload, 445km/h and maneuverability of heavy fighter), or PZL P.24 which had served also for Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece.
Say "yes" and I'll even go to Aviation Museum in Cracov and fetch some original plans... [IMG]

Ta-152C!!!!!!!! MUST me added to this game!
I can get you a scanned in pic of a comparrison between 190 and 152

Also: He-219 'Uhu' (no joke [IMG]) would be a nice addition
2 Canns and 4 Guns... can make a difference in the air...

    greetz, Zembla

PS: The explanation for the difficulty in finding new Axis aircraft isn't so hard: Hitler said he would end the war with the planes with which he beginned it... He didn't want fighters, he wanted 2 engined light bombers with multiple taskings
Hell, Hitler and Goering were even so nuts one moment they considered disbandoning the fighter squadrons and then add them to the Flak squadrons...

    greetz, again

OK, while this discussion has been going on the MC202 was added and is now removed. WHY???

Finally a Gold plane that can compete, and you remove it?

Now on to the current discussion. I agree with Mcosta. That is how to kill an ME 262 and Red should try killing with ME262 before complaining too much. Is very hard to fly that plane, and it very fragile. Even a 7.62 round in the engine will cause major damage and a yaw that is almost uncontrollable.

Tpak you are right the ME262 was a limited plane. Almost exclusively flown by pilots who were already ACES. Aven Erich Hartman ws offered a seat but because of unit loyalty he declined. But plenty of other aces did fly it. Are you getting a hint of an idea here. Let me be succinct, make it available to aces only earlier in the war, and make it available to the general gold pilot for the last 2 months of game time. Then everyone gets to play, and those of us who really want to fly it sooner will have to earn the privilage. Not currently ace streak, but had an ace streak during the same ToD.

Alternatively you could just add one or two months of game play time. That would expand the window enough to ensure that guys like me get to fly it more tehn one ToD every (whimper) 5 months.

And mcosta I am jealous. Since January 2001 I have flown the ME262 in just 1 ToD. And when it is almost available I start to salivate and well you get the picture.

    Thanks for listening.

The reds always had that "uber" plane... the P39... as anyone here knows, if you give him enough energy, it's a threat to every moving thing...
Why are reds always getting shot by the G10/K4? Because lots of times they try to head-on with it...
When I'm on a Ki43, I try the most NOT to engage a con in an headon... why? I have almost no armor and inferior firepower.... I'll loose it for certain...

You say it's now balanced.... you now have Pe2 and Il2... we only have the Ju87...
Ju87 and Pe2 can be put on a shelve, since it's rare to see one ( as Pe2 is a new plane, I'm seeing people testing it... but I don't think the enthusiasm will last long... )
Ju87... it can be an interesting plane, but the BEST one here is the Il2... when it came into action, golden bases got into a bad situation...
    etc etc etc....
The game was not balanced at the begining. That is a truth. Then the Yak1 entered service, it became balanced. Then I16, LA5FN, IL2 for the reds, G10 for the axis.
We got a He177, the allies still have a big collection of bombers.

IMNSHO, The game is now way unbalanced...
Reds complaint about the 262 because they can't fight it... sorry, but it's what I have seen...

That reminds me some things I've been reading in the 100 radio freq. since i've been here...

where you'll find ______ , please fill with the name the majority of you know.

    1. rcosta in a BF110. ______ on a fighter. ______ misses an attack, climbs to evade him, and gets a 30mm round ( legit shot! ) at d10. Complains that rcosta is a CHEATER. I can only say ______ is a looser*.

    2. mcosta on a Me262. I spot a con at the same altitude, coming for me VERY fast. d15, and it's a P51D. As I cant escape from his 6 0.50 cal guns, I decide to aim at him, forcing him to evade my HO attempt. He doesnt, d10 and closing. I shoot, he explodes. I'm called every stupid name you can imagin on the 100 channel. I don't answer back because the only (insert stupid names here) here was the guy that decided that he would win a HO with a 262...

    3. Stupid discution about.... B25s on a CV. Reds want it on a CV ( so they can practice the Tokio bombing, I suppose [IMG] ). As they lost the discution online, they want the G4M2 out of the CVs...

This reminds my "experiments" on Air Warrior.... taking off from CVs from MiG15/F86/B17 and landing on them again...

tpak, I'm in no way attacking you in this post... I'm only expressing my opinion, and attacking those on ______ and the other reds ( and golds! ) that think like them.
IMNSHO, If a person doesn't know much of a thing, It's better not to discuss it at all!
( again relating with the B25 on CV event... and others that I unfortunatelly saw... )

Going back to the Me262... I can't add anything more than what I typed before...
Me262 has very LOW climbing rate, level flight acceleration and l.f. top speed. It dives beautifully , has 30mm. Is completelly useless in all roles except energy fighting and wild weasel.
In that tpak is absolutelly right. Use it if you know how to manage it. If you don't know how, use another plane, otherwise you'll only be wasting ammo, fuel and me262s from the goldies arsenal [IMG]
If that happens, I'm sure we'l hear the reds compaining about the excessive numbers of ** 262s in the skies...
I still prefer the Ki43 to the Me262...

Put the 262 back into 1944. Even if it is for 1 or 2 month period... for testing purposes...

Leave the Ki43 available until the end of the war. ( and the I16 as well??? [IMG] )

This thread is becoming too repetitive [IMG]

In the end of WW2, almost all german pilots with experience were already out of service ( captured, killed, mia )... and LOTS of Hitler's Hitlerean Youth ( or whattever they are called [IMG] ) were recruited to fly the new jet fighters ( Me262, 163, 263, He162, etc etc etc ).
Luckilly for us, they were very green when they were given the planes so they didn't have much success ( excepting for the real aces still alive... )... if they had fuel to fly...
( For example, the He-162 Salamander, 2x30mm gun etc etc... a good jet fighter, didn't participate in Leck because the LW didn't have any fuel for them... 300 of them were ready for combat there )

    just to expose my opnion:

IMHO there is no reason to leave the 262 to last months of war. Only skilled pilots will use it because newbies will try it, but when they can't handle it they will leave it.

It's kind of the same to the 190. When I first flown it I couldn't get nothing. I left it for several months. Only now (I'm playing in FH for more than 1 year) I can get it to work.

Just a question to you reds. What do you think we fell with a higher p51/la5 near us ? And they still have a nice climbspeed/aceleration. When the 262 get's slow/low it's dead. In RL they were escorted in take-off and landing.

About the 163, that would be great. But don't worry about it if it will available for 1-2months.

BTW, I couldn't get the 262 this year yet.

Good idea but only if you make the same with allied planes: 1 spit Mk1 for 4 reds in 1940 or 1 spit XIV for 40 reds (only 2 wings were using this a/c in WW2) [IMG]

Fuel, of course. But I heard that Salamanders first - were made by low qualification workers (possibly slaves), and second, were very unstable in flight, so it cannot be real Volksjager for low experienced pilots.

Seeking for late war uberplanes, I'd turn to Japan, that produced (or couldn't under bombing and earthquakes) full complete, air worthy and, finally, excellent airplanes, such as Raiden, Shiden(+KAI, even +42), Frank-Ib, Ki-100-Ia, Hiryu, Ginga, Tenzan and Suisei.
