I always play with my fingers......I use 2 about 95% of the time...if I need to play faster or triplet type stuff I will use 3. a pick is good for some stuff...but if you reallly know how to play..you can make your fingers do cool stuff.. not sure what kind of ritalin he's been taking but he's pretty good.
Did Chris Squire play the original? Too bad the current generation doesn't get to hear much prog stuff. Most bands today seem to emphasize mindless choreography.
Squire always plays with a pick. And he still uses the rickenbacker bass he bought back in 64. If you have the time, I suggest you listen to THIS. It is classic Squire, from his solo album..Play this on a good home stereo, on CD. And you can hear amazinggggggggggg bass tones...Bill Bruford on drums, patrick Moraz on boards.
