"Channel War III: Enemy Coast Ahead"

    Planned Context
    Spring, 1941

It's spring of 1941 and every day RAF sends more and more planes over France. Hoping to draw Luftwaffe into the air, small but heavily escorted groups of bombers fly strikes on strategic targets within French coast. Such missions are called "Circus". At the same time, slow but heavily armed Hurricane MkII fighter bombers fly low altidtude strafing missions on enemy airfields. This battle of attrition will decide the future balance of the air war in the West.

    Planned Date
    Saturday, March 15th
Somewhere from 19:00 to 21:00 GMT
(Couldn't find the time Stec chose.. :shuffle: )

    General Rules

    Map
    Big BoB
I think WBTRN002.trn, or something like that :)

    Target
    RAF bombers and fighter-bombers will target airfields: f14, f15, f16, f18.
    Luftwaffe must defend!

    Scoring:
    fighter: 3pts
    bomber: 5pts
ground structure destroyed on target airfield: 1pt
closed target airfield (once per scenario for each airfield): bonus 20 points.

    General rules for all players:
    - You fly only as a member of a squadron you were assigned to and obey all orders you may receive from your Squadron Leader.
    - You can fly only in a plane and only from an airfield your squadron was assigned to.
    - You can take off only with the rest of your squadron, unauthorised take offs are forbidden under threat of kicking you from arena
    - After you have landed or crashed you must wait in tower. After your Squadron Leader ordered take off you must go on the runway as fast as possible.
    - Number of lives is unlimited (only limitation is that squadrons can take off only as a whole, so all pilots must be landed for squadron to fly a new mission.)

Take off procedures (for Squadron Leaders):
Your squadron can only take off when all pilots are on the runway, so you must always wait for the last pilot to return from his mission. Your squadron can only operate from 1 airfield it was assigned to before scenario. All the time during scenario take offs on all fields will be suspended. After all your pilots returned to base and are waiting in tower you may decide to fly another mission. You contact your TA admin and ask him to grant you clearance for take off. Admins enables take offs on your field for about 20-30 seconds and during that time all your pilots must be otr and you are cleared to fly a mission.

    Planned arena settings

    Icons
    icon range - d6
    enemy id - d0
    friendly id - d6

    Misc.
    killshooter - off

    Proposed planeset:

    Pilots
    axis 40% pilots
    allies 60% pilots

    Luftwaffe (Red team)
    109e4 - 20%
    109f2 - 20%

    RAF (Gold team)
    spitVc - 20%
    spitIIa - 20%
    Hurri2c - 10%
    Boston (B-25C) - 10%

Remember, this is mostly a test scenario. Even though it is a serious one, we are still prone to bugs and mistakes. Be patient! :)
Oh, and I will be away until Wednesday. So make your questions to Stec - the creator of this current scenario.
    Many thanks to all involved!

    Campaign
If this scenario plays fine it could be a part of a ~6-frame campaign called "Channel War":

    I - Dunkirk 1940
II - Fall 1940. Battle of Britain, target: London
III - Spring 1941. Enemy Coast Ahead.
IV - Summer 1942. Operation Jubilee.
V - summer 1943. Clearing the Way for the 8th AF
VI - spring 1944. Operation Overlord.

These scenarios would be connected: pilots would keep their streaks for next frames, most effective squadrons would receive best planes in next scenario, etc.
So take care of your life, comrades, and equipment!

    Maybe i forgot something...
Oh anyway - When the registration site is ready, registration will be open. This thread is mostly for you to start deciding what you prefer: LW? RAF? Plane? Role? Want to be CO? SL (Squad Leader)? Regular pilot? Do you agree with the rules?
And of course... Areeee yoooouuuu reaaaaadyyyyyy???? :D

    WTG, finally :)

    volunteering as a
    Squadron Leader for Axis>Luftwaffe>Fighter>Bf109F2

Will it be possilble to recruit my pilots from a squadron of "my own", i.e. in my case, the ones which belong to Legion Condor JG69?

    Regards

Even though I'm officially at leave, I want to register as pilot of a Bf109F. I don't want to be a leader.

cc, in registration form there will be a place to write your MA squad name and a check box whether you want to fly with it's members during scenario or not.

Scenario will be played at 18:00 GMT
and allies are green not red for now ;)

    Sorry Male!

    Hello Male!

Whenever I try to sign in, "I dont have the correct password" it says, and then when I want to try again, it just gives me the "EventList" as an option.
I would like to have a basic signup, in order to obtain my password in the first place.

What kind of password do I use, do I get a new one, via mail I believe, or do I use the one for the FH-Forum?

BTW, does the sign-up page remain in German only or is it going to be ammended for international use?

    Sorry for bothering you.

    Nicely done maleti, wtg...

    one remark:
I'd propose to have 2 CO's per side (or even 3) ... this would motivate more people to stand up, as it is very doubtful someone will want to be CO (and get through with it) if he's to carry the burden on his own... it's no easy task, I can tell you that... spread their work a bit...

    just a suggestion

All depends on number of players. Minimum for each side will be 1 CO (commanding his forces only from the ground and also serving as radar operatior) and 1 TA admin who will authorise take offs (enable take offs on request)

Stec is Organisator, but I like your suggestion. Maybe we mail everybody, who want this job and they can decide who will do what.

    312. Czechoslovak Sq RAF rdy for

    nicae-, stec

sign us for this as whole sq. We are rdy for - 312. Czechoslovak Sq. RAF.

    side: RAF
plane: spit II or Spit V (as origin 312th sq planes were)
role: squad with two flights (about 8 pilots)

If needed, count me as one possible CO for RAF fighters. :mafia:

    Tally ho! WTG guys
