    Well consider the circumstances and the times;

The records company just discovered they could sell a whole lot of vinyl to the white kids.
They had to stroke the fires under the "English Invaders" and the Beatles had just put-out Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club album.

The Stones were real performers and loved touring (also they put more money in their pocket and less in the record company's buy touring).

Also Stones were originally a blues band- covering Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and others songs. The founder, the real founder was Brian Jones. Mick and Keith joined him.

So when they were "suggested" that they had to counter the Beatles latest, they put together HSMR in an amazingly fast time.

Remember the race was on; Beatles, Stones, Dave Clark 5, Herman's Hermits?

I think it was a matter of days/weeks- can't remember and too lazy to look it up.

So what was a poor boy to do back then ?

I had the Beatles, Stones, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Kingston Trio, Beach Boys..... Howling Wolf, Screaming Jay Hawkings... Muddy Waters, the Coasters.....

The Stones' HSMR was the natural antidote to Sgt Peppers's. It was fun and had that edge that the Beatles never had....

sure, not one of their best albums, but it got the job done.

I did. There was a dance happenning. Among the albums made by dancing fads were, Ummagumma, Their Satanic Majesty's Request, Close To The Edge, Jetsex [and after that, a cigarette].

Okay songs the two, then there was the third link at the bottom of the post. Then I clicked unknowingly on the link below those two:

I had to have a cigarette after.

Hey, anyone recall The "Cryin Cowboy" AKA Hank Williams? Anyone know of his son Hank Williams Jr? Well, there is another generation, I don't know what to say, well, his band, Assjack? Maybe says enough about that:
Hank Williams III. Cough cough. Not enough pills and ninety proof, which suits his background, too much Hillbilly Crack of late the young prince of that tribe, me thinks. What the fuck was Bocephus thinking when he was bare-balling whoever that was he bare-balled to make that pup his old lady, whoever she is, was, whelped? Jeez........ Fuck, worse than detroit.

Kay, this is a bit like his grandpappy...
click it, it is almost as bad as the above, but at least sounds like The Crying Cowboy.
And don't call me names, I am in the Americas, we like this shit. A lot. Well, maybe not. But it is in the bone, right?

Still waiting for a modern version of "the 4 horsemen" to save country music from that second string rock they call country now.
