At least he is a creative 'asshole' (as in politically incorrect). I often get a kick out of his 'bad' posts, they display intelligence, but not the kind that would be appreciated by nuns.

    ;) :)

nor by normal persons. He's off the line way too often. And i'm not a nun, and i like "bestial" humour, but not at all 90% of his posts...

What is this, a contest for who wants to suck my cock first?
If you're a chick post a large close up photo of your twat, shaved, so I can check for VD.
    Otherwise the answer is no.

Isn't this the one Komet was equipped with, Recoilless 50mm?

    Schräge Musik means Jazz?

If so i guess name comes from first installations of 20mm or 30mm cannon firing upwards behind the pilot. *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*, jazz from the backseat. Bit like car stereo. :D

irc, it means "slanted music", but Schr?ge Musik was not on the Me163. There a few books in publication by pilots who were key personalities in this program, Wolfgang Sp?tte is one, the others i don't remember off the top of my head. The Komet's vertically firing weapon, which was only used experimentally, was a set of 10 single shot smooth bore cannon, 5 in each wing root, which were triggered, when the weapon was armed, by photovoltaic cells. The idea was to fly under the target & the weapon would go off when the target occulted the illumination of the sky - something like an aimed flying land mine. Iirc, it worked at least once in a combat trial.

It does mean jazz. Bent Music. Schrage Musik means Bent Music.

It's a name with a double meaning for obvious reasons.

Re: "Upward firing" cannon and such

There have been experiments with APDS/APFSDS rounds on aircraft, but it turned out the sabot's fragments were sucked into the plane's propellers, air-intakes and got ledged between the ailerons. Bad news. Granted, it COULD work in a vertical mode, but this would mean one plane needed one more different type of ammo. Logistically speaking, that's not a good thing.

Also, upward-firing guns were used on small distances (50 yards max). an APFSDS-round would not make a bigger impression at such ranges. In fact, it would do LESS damage because of the lower explosive content. :)

"Schräge Musik" literally means "Slanted Music" and was slang for "Jazz Music" which was, although deemed "morally corrupted" by Nazi-officials, extremely popular amongst Luftwaffe-personell.

I think they might have been a field modification used on some j2m3s as there are records of them downing a bomber at least once.

They only made 2 j2m4s which is lucky for the bombers as it had the high altitude performance performance of the j2m2 that seemed to elude the j2m3.
