Judging by the fact that I entered this thread when the topic was "insults," and it still is, your demand to "get back to the subject" is wasted.

    Tigrou is french, I think.

Maybe the other french are busy drinking red wine, eating baguette and building citroens?

    ok- slight generalisation, I know.

    Let the bad rep come.

    Lots of people in France.
Do they still have the proprietary internet thing the gov there installed that was, well, proprietary? I been thinking maybe French people are limited to only internet access their government approves of, like Fascist China [formerly, People's Republic Of China]
    Prolly not...

Maybe French people have a lot of money per person and they pay for online play?
Maybe that powerful cider makes them apathetic?
    :@drunk:

There's this very popular set-top system in France, I think it's called "Viditel" or something like that... No need for a computer, just plug it into your TV and go.
Anyway, since that system has been in use since 1988 or something like that, the French have never had a reason to change to Internet. This Viditel-system is very easy to use, very efficient and (at the time it was introduced) very high-tech. The isolationist tendencies of the french people/government have something to do with the slow acceptance of the internet as well, of course. Let's not forget that the WWW is mostly US-based, thus: english is the no. 1 language on the WorldWideWait....

Right now, the Internet is rapidly becoming a factor in France, even my folks have got DSL in their second home now (which is WAAAY out in the boonies, somewhere beneath Nancy). So we'll see a massive amount of frogs invading our web someday soon, goddammit! :)

    LOL

viditel u are talking is minitel and working with telephone, it is a very old system that never realy had succes, with a pay/minute to access services with a crap interface. now it is forgeted.
internet is going fine here, no goverment restrictions about it.u can google wbfh as u want and find it.
for ex:i'm far from PARIS and i pay now 15euro/month to have about 5meg/s connection ADSL.

ps: if u refer the isolationnisme by the "no" at constitution referendum, let me say that it is not the mirror of french tendencies, just the thing that frenches didn't answer the question for on more time
