Sing the agreement? lol I can't make that one work. :p

    Anyway....
I've thought about the many problems we have here on WBFH and think back when I flew in Air Warrior.
Back in those days, they thought about those problems and had them solved. I think we should look to those who have dealt with these problems like cheating and consider the changes.

Using Air Warrior as an example:
The addressing of individual spies was not possible in a practical way. If you wanted to spy, using Roger Wilco would work. Communication with the other countries was ONLY possible on the open or public channel; known here as radio channel 100.
On WBFH I see a serious problem with being able to communicate so easily between sides.

How do we possibly solve this one issue? Restrict communication between countries except for chan 100. Simple.

Another spying issue: Watching the action from the tower. In WB you can see all the action while in the tower, view externally from the tower, and you can launch a vehicle from the field and sit there. One way the programmers in Air Warrior solved that problem was with a non-user input boot. For a duration of time if no user input was recieved...you get booted. This had a double purpose. One of which was to conserve user bandwidth and server load. Also, IF you were at the field which was captured by another country and were in the tower, you would be kicked to the nearest field (your country).

Viewing the action at a field was not possible from the tower unless you launched a vehicle. We would defend and watch fields in T34s and Flankpanzers when being vulched/capped. In WBFH it's pretty easy to see the action but that's not a serious problem.

As far as multiple nick-names go, it's completely out of hand here on FH. I feel it could be resolved though.
If we were to tie a nickname to an email and tie that also with a forum name for example that would help. No This would also possibly help with the lost password problems as you'd be able to have password recovery methods built in. I have no idea how much work it would require, but it something to consider.

Also, another thing that just nags at me quite a lot is the country switching among squads. That's just begging for spying among those you don't know much about. Call me a loyalist, but it just seems stupid to switch countries with the whole squad. I question that squad's integrity. If my squad did that, I would quit the unit. I often fight the same idiots morons from different squads and don?t like seeing them behind me following me around. That?s leading to one thing of which I KNOW happens. Those in the country will communicate with that person and pinpoint mine or other?s locations if they want to nail me. But, again, the issue of cross-country communication needs to be limited. It?s just not essential to chat with other country members privately.

To sum it up...I think we can reasonably make it difficult to spy by making the private communication limited to either your own squad or countrymen.

Many sorry for "sing" misprint, it's my mistake.
Dear Squad Leaders, please correct your message for the appropriate writing. It have to be "sign or signing" not "sing or singin." Many sorry again.

Really I consider this is bad idea because this can't even the complicate the spying.

Who is the common, dangerous spy?

This is an pilot, who uses 2nd(3rf, 4th) computer to perform spying operations.
So he is playing with his squadmatters (alone or some joint action) and he is checking radar sometimes.
When the pilots is furballing there is no danger from spy, but when the pilots going to make some organized action (e.g. some raid) spy can see the enemy channel, can read the ch# 0..99 and can see the enemy radar.

Le'ts make the assumption airgem wanna started the low-jabo raid. He invite some pilots in private and ask on common 101 (103) channel to join. He gives the channel number of raid only by private, so spy can't guess the ch # of raid.
But spy knows that some raid is planned.
In one moment he see 4 dots up from field which had dissapeared in the known direction. Or spy can guess the next field for attack and can see the raiders taking off from field.

    What will he do?

Of course he is asking his squadmatters to join the Defending operations. Squadmatters are returing to base and starting to roll from the field, which has to be unden attack very soon.
Of course airgem have very small changes when 3 cons are looking for raid hi-lvl over field.

If airgem wanna started bomber raid the state of affairs to be more worse. Even in the case nobody see the darkiller (darkiller has to low) and all necessary dars are killed spy have a lot of time to see the bomber formation (slow dots on radar).
Yes, the idea to kick the users, who are sitting in the tower was considering many times, but this:
    - demand the aike to make the changes in the server (we have to wait 6 months :)
    - can't stop the spying anyway.
I guess we have make the spying unpopular and our of FH rules.
I guess nobody will make so changes at FH server.
I'm contra for the limitation of the private talks on private channel between 2 pilots from different colours, the idea to limit the 110 channel is interesting, but this is not the panacea (e.g. desant, falcon, reddem with his spy is sitting in one room, do you really consider you can limit them by some server limitation? and do not forget about RW/TS software, etc)

I'll try to expain you why we need to sign the agreement between many squads (and the majority of pilots) and how it will help to stop spying in next mail.

    IMPORTANT

I'll try to expain how our "non-spying" community can solve the spying problem in the nearest future.

    1. Signing the "spying disuse agreement". It is desirable the Agreement be signed by the big number of squads at the nearest time.

    2. The look-up for the active spies. It will be better to identify the owners of the spies on chance.

    3. Writing the Petition to the Developers with the request take appropriate measures to eliminate the spying. This Petition will be signed by all squads, who had signed the Agreement.
The list of the active spies will be in the Appendix to the Petition.

    4. The consideration of the Petition by the Developers.
We hope that Developers can't ignore the opinion of the 250-300 pilots, practically signed the Agreement and the Petition.

It's most likely that spies or/and owners will get the serious warning or even be banned for certain period (till the presentation of their apologies in the public or private form)

    5. Another spies will get good lesson and can't continue use the spying. If somebody starts the "persistent systematical spying", all information will be forwarded to the Developers and Admins of the FH server for consideration and the preventive punishment.

Pilots and the Leaders of the squads, who still not signed the agreement,
please join our agreement as soon as possible. The sooner squads join the agreement, the sooner we can start the spy elimination campaign. The more squads join, the better result we get.

Let's fly and get fun on our rules, nor on the rules of spy owners!

I don't understand you completely here, but I think I know what you're trying to say. Problem is, I didn?t make my point correctly. I'll get to that below. :dunno:
The common dangerous spy would be actually more appropriately noted as: "Newbe who can't win using normal tactics" :ass: :dura: :lamer:
You missed what I was saying. What point I'm trying to make is, that "we", as in the FH staff and users need to move towards a decision to change communication to 'help' discourage the excessive spying which amounts to lame cheating. It's just too easy, and the FH team has made it too easy to accomplish the 'excessive spying' :flyer: . My opinion is that FH promotes excessive spying if they do not address the issue. Why? Because they should know about it by now. :deal:

I don't know what situations may occur, but most of these situations all lead back to the same thing. If we use a "private" channel for missions, but put the channel up on the open channel...what is the point? We cannot trust anyone. Someone will tune to the channel and listen in, then chat to their own goofs/friends in the other country/color and there we have the problem again.

Even if that idea of kicking users isn't implemented, I think the channel limiting would HELP, not solve. I hope we can agree on that.
How long it takes them to change these things is clueless to everyone I think. It seems it can take the FH team less than 24 hours to change the ack to fire on jeepacks at the CV F5 near F1 when the ?Barans? blatantly abused the use. But other things like this fall on silent ears. Maybe the wrong people are being contacted. Maybe they are members of these 'abusing the functions of WB' squads?

We already make it "unpopular" by flaming those that carry it out, but I doubt it will ever be a "rule" of any kind. Spying is like the silly PK's, collisions, stealth oil leaks, D15 hits, warping, warprolling, chute shooting, kill stealing and vulching. It's one of those things I can imagine they are not working or are working on. We just don't know what they are doing. We do know they screw up the planes beyond the obvious.

I don't think it will be a problem to eliminate communication between different countries/colors. That very feature is being abused. I don't think we need it. What do we need it for(in a practical sense)? Chatting? It's a flight sim, not a chat room. Sorry.
That means absolutely nothing. If everyone is in a squad, then that "might" in a looong shot work. With people making new screen names all the time you might as well forget it. That feature's limit is set to infinity by the FH people. Idiots are out there. They will work behind the scenes, behind our backs and poke us when they are there. We just won't always notice it.

:deal: :znaika: Please take note: Spying cannot be eliminated. I don't demand we eliminate it, because we can't. What we can do, is help to diminish it, reduce the ease. Don't we address other issues of cheating? I've seen many issues dealt with that were obviously lame and ridiculous.

Here is an example if what I want to illustrate in order to make my opinion clear.
    Communications:
    Red to Red on private....OK
Red to Red on Red channel....OK
Red to Red on private channel within squad....already OK
    Red to 100....OK
Red to Gold on private channel....Not OK....whatever for?

    Gold to Gold on private....OK
Gold to Gold on Gold channel....OK
Gold to Gold on private channel within squad...already OK
    Gold to 100....OK
Gold to Red on private channel...Not OK....whatever for?
I hate to be the one to say it, but these goofs out there will and are making it bad for everyone else! There are some that legitimately use that form of communication, but for the most part, I realize its possibilities and am willing to lose the ability to communicate with another countryman privately.

Thx for example, I completely understand your idea, but the "really dangerous spy" IMO don't need the private channel to talk from one channel to another channel because he has 2nd computer. Spy who change the side to check the enemy situation (or break somebody raid) IMHO is not so dangerous.
I don't think so, please find my translation of rgreat post concerning "Spying disuse agreement", written at the russian discussion of the spying discuse agreement:

    "Concerning "Agreement":

I hope this idea will not die.
Finally it will be better for everyone." (c) rgreat

I think admins are so indifferent because they are not flying at FH and moreover, don't make any organized operations ;)
Of course number of the private channel is not posted on common channels (101, 103). If it was posted by accident, raiders are performing channel number change only by private.
IMHO any server change need a lot of time to ask -aike- to do that, we can't count for any server changes for now. Any administrative sanction (baning) are much effective.
Spying to be "popular" till first measures be taken agains it.
Yes, "spying" can be eliminated, but the "dangerous spying" can be eliminated. We can do that.
