I have to search the dates but if i recall correctly first units of D model arrived to New Guinea in August of 43 and in July 43 there was a raid to Emmerich with D-5 model.

Im sorry if you felt insulted, and i know that the game is free, but we, the players , are tired to explain it: We can not say it easier, else louder, the game is not good because you add more versions, the game are the players in itself. If it weren t by the turks, this server would be empty, indeed the attach command destroyed my squad, the only one who did regular buff raids.

Before to do this stupid modification, flying the P-47 you had the chance to survive of 70% of times with P47c before the availablity of 190a4 and 109g6, later, with p47d you had to wait to May 44 to have the speed you should have at mid 43, but that speed would not be useful now with the ki84 dora and k4....and the last move it s to fly it at august 44. Reading this you could say im defending the balance, but it isn t, i am just defending the historical facts...that in the end are good for the players.

D5-10-15-22 were basically the same except for some small modifications such as external attachment for bombs, removing of some things inside of the cockpit, diferent propeller blade in some minor variants, and other internal modification in the engine such like new ignition system that in "our" game are stupid to be considerated. The biggest diferences begun with D-25 (15 min of water injection, canopy etc)

I vote to remove P-47C for P-47D5 at June 43 and leave the P-47D30 with M-10 rockets at august 44. But remember that D5 is as fast as our D-30, or even more in dive (same thing happens with P51b to d).
    BTW P-47D30 hadn t HVARS, else D-35.

d-30 or -40, according to various sources, introduced pre-tail fin, that dramatically improved stability of jug. d-27 or d-22 (just typing without strict checking. but i can if you insist) intoruced wide paddle airscrew blades that increased speed by at least 15-20mph. may be those "minor modifications" amongst those -5-10-15 actually affect jug much too?

    1943-01 P-47C escorted B-17 raid to Willhelmshaffen (8AF).

as for HVAR's, i cannot say for sure whether it is block 30 or 40. different sources...

so, what is your suggestion about P-47D-30-RE and why (from historical POV)?

    p.s.when bubble-top went to action?
when water-injection kit went to action?
    when hvar's went to action?
when tirple bombs went to action?

we try to make things better, and to fix what we lost in stagnation since 2000.

We appreciate that, exec. We criticize a lot, I know, and sometimes we come across as a right bunch of ungrateful bastards ... but always keep in mind that deep down in our hearts we really do appreciate what you guys are doing.

As for the P-47, I don't personally know anything about the operational history of the various P-47 models, but IMO pushing the P-47D back this far is bound to hurt the game. As I see it, the P-47 is one of the most challenging planes to fly in WB. Further curtailing its use as a fighter in the arena by making P-47 jocks fly the less powerful version even longer will only lead to even fewer pilots considering the P-47. IMO we should encourage people to fly planes such as the P-47 more and spend less time in dweeb rides such as the Spit. At the moment it seems to me that we're rather moving in the opposite direction.

My suggestion is to leave it like it is until August 44 but change our model P47C for a early model D, because P47C is TOO slow. This would remove P47C from RPS which appears at Dec 42 but i think that s better than to fight in a P47C against KI84 and doras.

From historical point of view: Model D arrived 2-3 months later than C, i must check sources

    massively with P-47D25

with P-47D5 until D25 10 min of water injection, from D25 to foward 15 min

P47-D35, if you are asking for dates, i will search

    with the P-47D15

D1-RE: Increase in number of cowl flaps to 12 to improve cooling; distinctive "cut-out" on rear of lower two flaps on each side, additional pilot armour in cockpit; other minor changes.

D2-RE:Turbo shroud removed; otherwise similar to D1.

    D2-RA: Similar to P-47D-2

D3-RA: Model not to P-47D-5-RE standard, intermediate block number used; similar to P-47D-2-RA.

D4-RA: Model not to P-47D-5-RE standard, intermadiate block number used. Provision for water injection with 15-gal (12.5 Imp gal/56.8 L) ank; GE C-21 supercharger; otherwise similar to P-47D-3-RA.

D5-RE: First production model with provision for water injection with engine-driven pump. Two-point B-7 bomb shackles installed to take bomb up to 500lb (227kg).

D-6-RE: Fuselage store station changed from two-point B-7 to four-point B-10 shackles; otherwise similar to P-47D-1-RE.

D10-RE: C-23 supercharger; other internal changes. Introduction of cable-charging of guns. (i must check what diference that supercharger does)

D11-RE: Electrically driven water pump operated automatically by throtle lever.

D11-RA: Evansville standarised with Farminglade; similar model/detail changes.

D15-RE: Production installation of two wings pylons enabling up to 2500lb (1134 kg) of bombs on three store stations; external tankage increased to 375 US gal (312.3 Imp gal / 1420 l ); jettionable canopy.

    D15-RA: Changes as P-47D-15-RE

D16-RE: Similar to P-47D-11-RE with detail changes

    D16-RA: Similar to P-47D-11-RE

D20-RE: Engine change to R-2800-59 with GE ignition system; tailwheel leg lenthened; changes to tail of wing pylon; other detail changes; 250th D-20 (42-76614) completed as XP-47L; natural metal finish adopted from 42-25274.

    D20-RA: Similar to P-47D-20-RE.

D21-RE: Revised throttle quadrant; other minor changes but otherwise similar to P-47D-11-RE.

D21-RA: Similar to P-47D-11-RE; changes as for P-47D-21-RE.

D22-RE: First block of P-47s fitted with 13 ft 1.875 in (4.01m) Hamilton Standard Hydromatic (HSH) cuffless paddle-blade propeller with blunter hub than CE type; overall length extended to 35 ft 10 in (10.92m).

D23-RA: First block fitted with 13-ft (3.96m) Curtiss Electric cuffed paddle-blade propeller; other detail changes.

Note: since D22 to the end of series will be alternace between HSH (Hamilton) propeller and CE (Curtiss)

D25 to D40.....that is other thread

    yes, i know from Baugher:
    P-47C-5-RE: R-2800-21
    P-47D-1-RE
    P-47D-5-RE: R-2800-21
    P-47D-10-RE: R-2800-63 (=R-2800-21 +umrüstung bausatz of MW)
P-47D-11-RE: MW injection made automatical (i understand it as it was dependent from throtthe level now)
P-47D-15-RE: added underwing racks for 2*454kg
P-47D-20-RE: universal wing (whatever it means) and R-2800-59 with better ingition system
P-47D-22-RE: new airscrew, +2m/s of climb
    P-47D-25-RE: bubble-top canopy
    P-47D-27-RE: dorsal fin added
    P-47D-30-RA(?): HVARs adapted

but action action dates are unknown

except: P-47C escort in 1943-01 and sweep in 1943-03
    ____________________________________________________

so, you suggest to replace P-47C-2-RE by P-47D-5-RE?
    -2m/s, 10min WEP instead of 15min, 1*227kg bomb.

which date is for P-47D-5-RE, not plain P-47D-1-RE(=P-47C) ?

are the settings of TA the same like MA? i would like to test some things about speed ....although right now i ve lost again the conection to the server..

If our P-47C were real it would have the same engine that serie D1-10: R- 2800-21, but instead of that our P-47C is really slow

    http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/p-47/p-47-tactical-chart.jpg

I have a doubt about speeds, does the p51d of FH reach really its top speed above 710 kmh? I know our p47s doesn t, but why?

The water-methanol only was used in some variants like D-11 if i recall correctly, they used 50% of each because in high altitud the water froze.

You still dont get it guys?
P-47 is nice ride, hard one, but "WE" had to make lagg more flyable)
In fact , "we" consider removing 47d model now when Big-jo mentioned it,
for introducing more shvak-mounted-planes, or at least ubs-mounted ones.
Therefore mazohists like Big-jo are adviced to stop flying big ugly fat fuckers ,
and start adjusting to beautiful-lined russian miracles...Or at least, to change for one of those uber-thingies like f4u, spit etc...Many ppl liked to fly 109 g2 at late war, some of them liked p40e in 45, some of them flew 190 a4 model...
Unlike the Boa, and his idiotical idea "flying plane u like even in late war is great", we considered that is must for every pilot to learn history and start flying one of great planes such as beaufighter (not because sonar likes it), yak -7 (not because admins are russians), i-16 in 1943 because mother russia didnt have money to build better plane, or at worse to try lagg 23 mm.
Btw, I doubt that any gold bitched about p47 , simply that was not the greatest plane in the game so , Big-jo, relax..

Most literature I've seen lists the P-51D at 436 mph (702 km/h) tops, with the P-51B being 2 mph faster. As far as I'm aware, flight sims generally use these conservative figures.
Anyway, the P-51D is the only plane for which I've ever conducted an almost anal speed test (2 samples [WEP/MIL] for every altitude from sea level to 35 kft in steps of 1 kft), and at 25 kft, the P-51D exactly matched its published top speed of 436 mph.
So if Warbirds has one plane that is literally spot on (at least speed-wise) I'd have to say the P-51D is it.

I ve tested the topd speed of both P-47 at 20 kft. Our P-47C is unreal since it hasn t the real engine that it had.

    Our p47c at 20kft reached a top speed of 391 MPH (630), 402 with WEP (648)

Meanwhile, the P-47D reached at the same altitud, 20 kft 401 MPH (646), with wep 413 MPH (666).

Reading the operational chart i see that in 20 kft that R-2800-21 at max power reached 406 MPH, so our p47d is correct more or less, only we have to change the P-47C

Hey, I just found the chart I made from my samples. I don't remember exactly which Warbirds version this data was obtained with, but then I don't recall FH making any changes to the P-51's speed, so there's a good chance it's still accurate.

Download this file and rename it to .jpg.

    Hey there powdr,
Was just a question. :) I don't always leave happy faces to show my emotional status at the time of my statement so you guys can't just make up your own idea of my attitude/mood. Just chat with people from the east coast and you'll understand what attitude/demeanor is about. :)

I noticed the other day when flying the Hurricane that the cannon sound which should be 4 20mm cannons firing was of a single 30mm cannon. Maybe it's my end but, it's kinda funny to hear from that plane lol. [IMG]

i need time to altitude for both of our c-2 and d-30
conditions: 100% fuel, climb speed 165, start at sea level, turn on autospeed,
throttle so autospeed maintains constant altitude, .startlog c2up100.log, throttle full. upon 30000ft .stoplog
    (that is hoof's method)
    besides, c2upwep.log is welcome

    also i need top speed at selected altitudes: 5000, 10000, 15000, 20000, 25000, 30000 ft.
conditions: 100% fuel, autolevel, .startlog c2lvl100.log, throttle full,
stop log when speed stops growing.
100% fuel, autolevel, .startlog c2lvlwep.log, throttle wep,
stop log when speed stops growing.

all tests could be done in fhlauncher-offline mode.

    thank you beforehand
