Fuel=Polttoaine In climb gauge (arrow up here)ylös=up (arrow down here)alas=down Vertical speed=Pystynopeus (m/s) Im sorry, but imho that frog green stuff around dashboard seems ugly and unreal(more like I-16 or chaicka windshield arrangement.) Those places are inside cockpit frames and black in color.(naturally to avoid deflecting of sun) Also radio mast is at far front of aircraft nose. Wouldnt it be best to leave it for 3d model to show? (from inside cokpit view) As everything else outside cockpit is 3d too.
Also I cant understand scale at VSI. It seems to go chaotically. Impossible to read accurately. Acually I get that same feeling from speed indicator too. It doesnt seem linear. Look above for picture sideslip indicator. Also we have gyro direction mark adjusting wheel below throttle.
the green paint is at outside cockpit... I didnt know what to paint in there. I'll paint it gray... correct?! About the antenna, I did like Cicero's 202: painted it, because it allows more detail than a 3D shape, but I can take it off. >Also I cant understand scale at VSI. It seems to go chaotically. Impossible to read accurately. Acually I get that same feeling from speed indicator too. It doesnt seem linear. the scale from VSI both (descent and climb speed ends in 20m/s, like on the pics I saw).. didnt understand your point here. About the speed indicator, it is kinda provisory.. Like I said, it is weird, non-linear... but I'll remove mph numbers and put 0 back there.. better..? BTW, I'll move the artificial horizon to the above gauge, but what do I put in its place? G-meter? any other stuff? oh, I drawed an alpha version of the canopy stuff...:
hi rafael, the outside of cockpit cant IMHO be seen at all. pilots head is too close to the dasboard and is _very_ little above the top of dashboard. this looks right IMO i dont know if its what illo meant but if you look at the marks: the mark marked 5 is normal size and the one 7(,5?) is bold, same for 15. illos right about the intervals. look at intervals 100-200 and 200-300 on the speedometer. one more point. the cockpit was very high and pointy. kinda triangular with round top. -datel
You can look from pics. Outside cockpit is black near front cockpit. Grey might be correct...it looks quite dark in pictures. (imho darker than outside black paint.) Its way too thick(its about 2 meters from pilot). And its at far right side of fuselage. (look at pick. You can draw line from it to pilots head to get right position on screen. Also you can get with by measuring its width and taking general with of FOW (90degrees) at its position. Yes it ends in 20 but ticks between make no sense. Show me position. How should i know when im climbing 17m/s??? There is no logical scale. It seems like scale is in some imperial ticks with metric numbers placed here and there. I dont really care as long gauges are readable. 100kmh should be 100kmh. 50kmh should be 50kmh. They are not decoration..are they? It helps to use 3d model cockpit views to get right scale on cockpit. I would think it would be most easy to just copy actual screen size from there and cut/paste/draw cockpit on it.
This scale is directly from 3d model. (so its direct view from pilots eyes.) You are making virtual reality Scale must be right for not to get weird views. I suck at drawing...so just tried to fit those pieces in place.
rafael, just a note about seeing that green part: in real pic (posted above by illo) shows there is a black part before the cockpit finishes. so that would be visible if you can see the green part. so either both or none should be seen. i think none and green should be more olive excellent work!!
Heya you guys! I just worked and fixed ( I hope) the problems you pointed.. What do you think guys? PS: if possible save it to your HD and visualize it in fullscreen (1024 desktop res) and tell me if it has afeeling of a Brewster cockpit... I use IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com 700kb download) for it.. great graphics program.
Looks good. Just few things. 1.Frames are somewhat wrong shape. (copy from datels 3d view of pilot eyes and add as removable layer to aid drawing.) 2.Nose isnt seen from cockpit. You can see only straight bulky metal frames behind dashboard. 3. Radio mast would be cool to be only in 3d model (datel ) so we could have wire from it to the tail correctly.
I though this might be helpful. Here 1:1 illustration of what can and what cannot be seen. Visible are correct dimensions for 90degree FOV (what wb uses). If you have any doubts save it and view next to this. http://www.il2center.com/Reference/Bulk/Finland Brewster Fighter/panel_photo.jpg
Hi Illo, thanks! I used datel's view at first, but I changed many times the perspective for it (I wasn't 100% sure) that at the end the frame was completely wrong. BTW, that red painted thing over the dash is.... ? maybe that black thing over the panel, below windshield?
