I'm founding a new band, called "FreeHost Culture".

All are invited to join. Any random music compositions are welcome. :)

    I'll start first!
When my PC returned from fixing, it's sound adapter suddenly decided to work as Full Duplex (meaning I can record audio and hear audio at the same time), allowing me to use a fascinating software called "CakeWalk". This software allows you to record tracks over tracks, editing them seperatly to create your own music. :)
So here's my first finished piece.

    Auto-Preview: 4 of 10
    Tune: 7
    Skills: 3
    Sound Quality: 2

    Tune: Catchy, happy and cheerful.
Skills: I suck! :) It's a shame to show it to awsome masters present in this forum, but it was fun making it, so perhaps it is fun listening to.
Sound Quality: My equipment speak for themselves: Melody: 24 year old accoustic guitar; Rythm: A matchbox; Plastic CD cover; Snaps; Mom's sugar tupperware; Input: Monitor's microphone; Professional: Kid new to software and new to recording music.

Comments: You will notice some errors that I wasn't patient enough to remake the whole track, and some moments I'm completly off the tempo, but heck, it isn't as easy as it seems, OK?! :)

Where to get it: (Rename the file to MP3 format)
    http://planeta.terra.com.br/servicos/nicae/freehostculture.htm

    Who's next? :)

PS: Maybe we need new band name... :D

Hey nica i was unable to download! Took too long to get a response from the link's server that i got bored to death and gave up in downloading.

BUT i like the idea. Jacobe is a great guitar player, jazzer and hes a PRO. He and one of his friends recorded a very nice version of Besame Mucho wich he sent to me so i could improvise and add some of my tenor sax recording with Cakewalk also.
BUT i wasnt able to add anything to their music since it sounded great, simple and finished. :znaika: excuses excuses... :D

Would be nice to join all the FH guys who plays something and are able to record themselvs to make one BIG improvisation. If the result isnt that great, will be at least funny. ;)

    here's Wild's song, named "Don't go to Head-on"

    http://duc.port.kz/audio/Wild(aka_Kazel)_Don't_Head_On.MP3

i'll try to translate the lyrics

If you on the stick only first day
But you are not on the stick a moron or dick~
Don't go to virage, don't turn over ground
And remember the main thing for long life:
    Don't go to head-on. Don't go to head-on. Don't go.

Now you spent on the stick an entire week
You got you first kill and first landing was made
You saw virages, and you saw mirages (Wild: warps? ;))
But you may be alive only because
You don't go to head-on. You don't go to head-on. You don't go.

Almost year with the stick, you're an ace in the sky
Boom and zoom you know like ABC~
    But all rules are waste
    And you go to head-on
And to bandit that buring you loudly talk:
    "Don't go to head-on! Don't go to head-on!
    Don't go to head-on. Don't go to head-on
If you don't know how to. Don't go.
    Don't go."

    ~bad rhyme of my translation

Ok nica it worked now. Man! Very nice and fun! The intro almost made me piss on my pants! wtg! :super:

Damn, with this thread you encouraged me to show my noises. Well, gotta join ya on it but let me say that your sense of humour in unbeatable. ;)

Introduction: since the instrument i play is a solo (sax) im only able to record solos :dura: So i like to grab pieces from some MP3s i have and using Cakewalk Homestudio i improvise a sax's solo and add over the original musics.
    Instrument: Tenor Sax.

    Auto-Preview: 4 of 10
    Tunes: 5
    Skills: 4
Sound Quality: 7 (ex girlfriend reported high noises and bad quality but i believe its because shes my ex). :D
Tunes: the original are good. After i added the sax im not sure.
Skills: the original bands are good. The guy of the sax is doing the best he can, sorry. :D
Sound Quality: its not so bad at all.
Professional: amateur kid that likes to play around.
    Input: PC's microphone;

    Downloads:

HauptsSaxNoise1.mp3 (500kb) - the original song is: Aint No Sunshine When She's Gone by Jeff Becks.
The sax's solo is mine. Download

    *******

HauptsSaxNoise2.mp3 (500kb) - the original is by Black Cat. If i recall well its a small and not so famous american band. The sax's solo is mine. Download

    *******

CaliforniaByPedrinho.mp3 (500kb) - now this is another thing. A funny recording where a friend sings California Dream BUT the point is that he doesnt know a word in english :D
He sings alone and recorded the 4 voices himself!
The laughs and hand claps at the end are from my buddies and me. :) Download

    *******

    Enjoy!

Wow, Nicae! Wonderful chords idea, when it changes from F major to G major (!), then A minor, it makes this little thingie very exciting. I also liked the improvisation.

I liked it so much I made an own version (beat da stealer!), also in F major, but modified quite a lot, except the main theme.

You can download it from here:

    Nic's Preview of Haupt - Haupt's Sax Noise 1:
    7.6 of 10

    Tune: 8
    Skills: 8
    Quality: 7

Tune: Very good choice for the background :) Sax tune is also very good!
Skills: Very nice improvisation on the sax - enough said!
Quality: Sax recording quality is great, but there are some moments in which the recording kind of failed. (No, haupt, im not your ex). It seems to have been because of CPU shortage. And since both sax and background fail at same time, i suppose you recorded the sax while playing background? if yes, record seperatly. if not, try closing all other programs (except cakewalk, you dummy!)

Comments: Nice! Too bad the recording is short, and with occasional slowdowns, but overall, its great! :)

Nic's Preview of Wild "Kazel" - Ne Hodi V Lobovuyu:
    7.4 of 10

    Tune: 8
    Skills: 7
    Quality: 7

Tune: Normal but clean blues, added with some catchy guitar strokes! Nice vocal tune too.
Skills: Unlike me, he knows how to keep the tempo :D and is an excellent singer!
Sound Quality: The guitar get's clipped, probably because the microphone was set too sensitive during recording. But the vocals have great quality.

Comments: Nice! Too bad I dont understand Russian to know *exactly* what he is saying, but thanks for the translation, exec! :)

Nic's Preview of Czili Roland - Nicae's Song:
    8 of 10

    Tune: 7
    Skills: 8
    Quality: 9

Tune: Same as mine, although perhaps i should have given more to this MUCH cleaner remake.. hmmm...
Skills: Very intense solos.. and what gives it a boost is the fact that the speed is kept, even being an improvisation! The well known quality of ol' kutya! :)
Sound Quality: Fantastic quality... No noise, and compression(?)-like effect on the guitar tracks. Not to mention my 24 year old nylon-string guitar was replaced by a much better steel-stringed guitar :)

Comments: Nice! Perhaps someone could add some lyrics/vocals to the song.. Bas! LOL!
Great ending given to the tune, btw!

LOL! I think i exagerated when adding reverb then. :D

    Thanks Nica :)

Hey these slowdowns you are talking about i think are some kind of damage to the mp3's file caused during the download since i dont have any problem with the same file on my HD.

I noticed at least 2 cutdowns with your mp3's file too, thats why i believe its download issue.

    Hello,

Nice thread and interesting pieces here :))

    I've just composed a short piece :)

Its title is Flight of DeHavilland Mosquito

The only problem is that I can't post it here until I learn the ftp stuff. Maybe somebody familiar with posting files could be so kind and take my mp3 via e-mail and post it here for me? My song is about 1.4 Mb long :)

    Salute!
