But that was not Weather Report, but an other group formed by Jaco Pastorius in 1981. http://www.jacopastorius.com/music/essential/solo_wordofmouth.asp
And you know where Wim Mertens comes from don't you? He's famous in Belgium for his theme for the publicity around Proximus, a mobile phone network... culture, well if DJ's qualify: I like www.dylandrazen.com try 'carry on' or 'cought in the act'... very very nice deep house sets (relaxed music) <Z>
FreeHost Culture - Valiant Vultcher is now up at the same site (rename to .mp3 like last time): http://planeta.terra.com.br/servicos/nicae/freehostculture.htm its a 5 minute boring tune (at least i'm sick of hearing it), but should have enough time for everyone to solo enough. perhaps we can get haupt's sax this time? i still want to try to add something to kutya's runway rag, but its tought to get time, and this song is just so well done already...
Gotta love to do that nicae! But im currently without computer at home where im living for study. I decided to let my current PC at my hometown to my parents and the new comp will arrive in 3 weeks then i will be able to record (and play WB more often)
What kind of electric is that? Quite fat clear sound, though a bit buzzy, did that hum come from the single coil? That I. VI. IV. V. pattern somehow reminds me to the main theme of the series Twin Peaks. Is that continous sound of the low E string played purposely? The bridge tune is strummin' good I really like it. I think it could carry some singing. The ending is beautiful!
that electric is pure electric guitar. its kinda fat because my guitar was giving lots of buzzing interference, so i had to mess around with the tune controls until it would be not so bad. what hum are you talking about? what do you mean with single coil? unfortunatly i never heard the twin peaks main theme :-\ but that continuous sound of the low E was on purpose. its the way i got used to hearing the tune, so without it, it sounds strange for me now who would do the singing? it seems that jacobe already did our album cover
Single coil is a kind of pick up, when the voltage induced in one coil only. That is the opposite of humbucker, where two coils are connected, mainly to reduce the hum and for to get higher output sign. Single coils usually have more natural, thinner sound. For example, Stratocaster is a typical single coil guitar, and Les Paul is a typical humbucker axe. For singing; what about it, Bas? LOL!
im lame in guitar terminology. you mean the signal receivers? if so, i think mine is single-coil. sorta like the pic below, just that the 2 receivers are different from eachother. (in the same positions tho) i gave my friend the link to the song, so wait until he records the drums.
Hey guys. Ive bought a small harmonica (the one for blues) and its very easy to play! Ive tried a chromatic harmonica from my father (he used to play as hell), a Hohner made in Germany but i did not do well with this one. Too big and the single button is too complicated for my brain. But the small blues harmonica is pretty easy and fun to play. As soon as my comp arrives i will be recording some stuff. Ive already decided for wich music to put a solo to. I dont remember the name right now but its a blues by Jimmy Reed wich has 2 perfect moments to put solos. Ive improvised already and will add an harmonica's solo on the first moment and a sax's solo on the second moment. Ive been praticing already so i think the solos will sounds good. Hold on tight
Yea, it's cool, 'cause you play blues in the 2nd position, therefore the C harmonica will play the blues in G. I have a crappy Bandmaster one, that is hard to bend notes in it, and also have a double reed tremolo tuned one, that is a bit different thing. Hohner is the king of harmonica manufacturers. Blues harmonica is really a fun thingie, 10 holes and you're there at the roots.
