OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) Jesus Christ, and AGAIN I'm 300 euro's poorer.... Me and my wife spend insane amounts of cash on animals. Our house already looked like a smaller version of the Rotterdam zoo, but we're out of control! Saturday we bought some new critters at our local herp shop.... Check it out! (the pictures aren't our animals, they're just pics from animals which resemble ours, which I got from Google) To start with, we bought a new red sandfire bearded dragon (Pogona Vitticeps). We called the little guy "Twinkle". Ours is less red than this one, but you'll get the idea..... They also had a beautiful blue-tongue skink (Tiliqua Gigas/Scincoides, I presume the former) which I just HAD to get. We took him home and called him "Bruce". It's an Australian animal, so the name Bruce came naturally. If it turns out to be a lady, we'll call her "Sheila". Also, they had a lesser Egyptian jerboa (Jaculus Jaculus) there which they needed to get rid off. Well, we bought it and called her "Lubna", which is a north African name..... I have NEVER seen such an ugly animal! This critter can leap 3 ft. high and 9 ft. far with the huge legs it's got! Amazing! Together with the water dragons, russian rat snake, guinea pig, rats and mice we now have some 25 pets in our house..... Within three months, we'll also get ourselves a Teju, which is a rather large South-american lizard, it looks like a monitor or Varanus-species.
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) Well Sebbo, if you ever run out of money for feeding your critters, you can always feed the lezards with all those mice
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) Hey Perdomo, why do you think I've got mice in the first place? I breed them for my lizards and snakes......
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) So... you give your pets names and then feed them to other pets? or you have mice with names that are "part of the family" and other un-named mices that are just meat stocks? P.S.: I prefer dogs
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) Korean guy? Always thought you were Polish. As for pets, my GF is only pet I will ever keep.
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) 20 years old turtles count as exotic animals? My girlfriend has one. We are sure our children are going to inherited her. What a stupid animal, she looks at you (the turtle, not my girfliend :-D ) and do nothing. And she smells like a fishmonger´s (the turtle again, of course ;-) )
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) The mice do not have names, they have codes. M-1, V-1, V-2 and V-3. "M" is for "Mannetje" or "Male", "V" is for "Vrouwtje" or "Female". We do not feed these mice, we feed their offspring. The rats do have names (most are sexual names), but these are true pets. We breed them and sell the young.
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) Wow, it's all an organization you have there... and when you go out on holidays? you leave some relative to take care of the pets? no relative has given a "named" pet to feed a reptile by mistake? P.S.: I still prefer dogs...
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) Hey, if the two of us are lemmings we can have descendence, do you want to copulate? Btw, Freya, you shouldn't feed your pets with lsd, your mouse-cat-avatar-thingie seems to be in a bouncing-frenzy-mode
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) jo, otro rechazo... tendre que cambiar de tactica? usar un metodo un poquitin mas sutil? p.s.: back to dogs, I guess...
Re: OT: Exotic pets (or "pests"?) puedo hacerme muchas cosas a mi mismo, y no querrias ver ni la mitad Vale, se acabo, no digo mas tonterias que luego el Broz me pega...
